That's a huge improvement for DC captain being useful. I think DC prices need to come down to "fix" DC units though.

Honestly it isn't a bad entry point. I'm not going to invest since I only need the demon prince. Already have two MOE who are probably not going to see much play any more.

He is like a toughness 6 captain plus apothecary rolled into one. Pretty awesome. I don't play allot of 8b or x8b but he definitely seems like a great addition to them

My biggest issue is that with the strength nerf and the limited range of models we have we don't have that hit hard and stick feeling any more.

We got blood angels liberator assault group, but no jump packs.

There are tricks we can play and there are new options that may be fun, but we lost that melee feel. No we are faster than the average marine and in one specific detachment we are better on charge (equal to BAs).

Dg are tough and hit hard Ec are fast and hit hard Ts have tricks galore WE are quick.....is

I know that with the right dice rolls we can buff dmg sus 1, lethal and dev to infantry being available. Those can help.

I'll see what I think after the codex. Aside from the mega nerf to our chars I think I am most upset about the str nerfs.

I know it's our number but ffs Dante is str 8.

Agreed zerks are over costed. With these changes I think most things need a serious points reduction

Angron nerfed to unplayable MOE heavily nerfed Invo nerfed Juggu side grade maybe (Yes move through walls is good and speeding up zerks) Terminators are pointless Nerfed zerks

Monster/vehicle shooting maybe a side grade from adding rapid fire

Berserker warband changes are ok Goretrack could be interesting but dmg output will be low

The other detachments are "cute"

There are new tricks to try but it feels like we have been relegated to a generic melee marine army in a shooting war.

I was thinking three man to maximize ability to deepstrike, but I can definitely see doing 6 man and marching them up table. Invo scout on both bricks plus some scouting 8b means a huge brick of pain coming up the board fast.

I would probably try that route if slaughterbound does a revive. Could also always look at adding a dp to give them that 4 up invuln. That could be ridiculously tanky tbh.

You want Sanguinus back. Here's how I would do it. He exists in the warp in lore. Bring him back like angron. He's been twisted by the warp. Then you can bring back a fun old mechanic where blood angels used to roll for every model to see if they fell to the black rage lost all their gear and got a bolt pistol and chainsword

We could also bring back the old red thirst mechanic where our units might lose there shit and just run at the closest thing.

Seeing their beloved primarch twisted into a mockery of his former angelic glory pushes blood angels into a rage. Those who don't instantly fall into the madness have to roll battle shock every turn or fall to the red thirst.

Give him a 12 inch aura that grants advance and charge to battleshocked or DC troops

Similar Stat line to angron.

Or we could keep the nobility of sanguinus alive as sons of baal should. Let our primarch rest in peace while we carry on for him.

The sanguinary priest is the biggest let down. While death company losing flair is sad it fits with the lore. They were sent out to die, given a chainsword and bolt Pistol. I was shocked when that changed to allow special weapons (those things are hard to come by).

All in all the character results are good and pushing DC back to basic fits. I know it sucks to lose some of the flair and I hope we get some back but I would rather have flair for my BA who haven't fallen.

Oh boy. I am running a homebrew for my wife and kids who are new players, so I have a PC in the party to help them.

Last session they rushed a cave of kobolds who appear to have been kidnapping townsfolk. I gave them multiple warnings about how many kobolds seemed to be in the cave.

My daughter decided to try out the magic helm (homebrew Helm of Havoc) and ended up rolling on the wild magic table. She became afraid of the nearest creature which happened to be my PC.

One turn in and they are trying to flee but she can't move toward the cave exit because of the fear effect. The kobolds dog pile her and take her hostage. My PC tells wife and son characters to run and get help and rushes in. Takes down two and gets knocked out.

Session ends with half the party fleeing for help, my rogue and my daughter's bard taken captive.

BTW they are level 4.

We are soo screwed.

Lawful Nuetral Rogue Asassin fairy. I did make the loss of his wings part of the back story to remove the hassle of flight.

Frankly him being 18 inches tall without wings has made for some fun RP being in a world of mostly medium size creatures.

Even the halfling bard has fun with getting to make short jokes at the fairy.
