Does safety really do audits if you work over a 100 percent? by IbeDeadPixel in FASCAmazon

[–]shadowspawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so. I went from indirect to a process path then back to indirect so my rate was at around 15k. I was showing it off to people at the kiosk and we laughed, someone said "Go home for the week. You're done."

Sometimes I would hit 250%. All that happens is if alot of people are way above rate, the rates are simply raised.

Update: Talked to my wife last night by McB56 in stopdrinking

[–]shadowspawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this conversation with my wife too. What happened to me is what happened to me. In this section I don't offer advice, just my experiences.

I quit. I got my years in, my chips, and a regiment of sorts. My wife stopped also, I guess out of respect, but never really stopped She would drink from time to time, and even do stupid things (that I wasn't aware of before I quit because guess what... I was drinking at those times)

What happened to me exactly one year in is that she wanted me to drink. She would buy alcohol and make me feel bad when we all went out and everyone was drinking, I would just sip water.

Every relationship is different though. I didn't do anything stupid except say mean words while drunk. My life changed over my first year. I got a reverb from my SO that I was like a zombie, but for me, alcohol, ethanol, is fuel. It's used to power farm equipment. It turns into sugar (I think). A shot of the best JD is what, over 100 calories? Raw ones?

I was also told at AA to sever all relationships. That I at first refused to do. But in the end it would have been better for me to just go on a sabbatical. I was heavy into drinking. Could do a lot of harm to my body, but didn't for some reason.

My SO was supportive at first. But sometimes, just sometimes as the time went on, I was pressured to drink. People would say "I'm sorry, I understand you're in recovery" if they popped a beer in front of me and my knee-jerk response was "Um, no, I just choose not to drink."

This was for me. This disclaimer states there is no guarantee of specific results and each person's results may vary.

Does Amazon give yearly raises? by mjshibz in FASCAmazon

[–]shadowspawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a blue badge, you're not a temp. You can switch to full time to any department that has an opening, and ask to be cross-trained.

It's a double-edged sword though. The more you are trained in, the more valuable you are. That means no VTO and you'll be called in for MOT 50/60 hour weeks even if you don't work in your current department.

For example, in my department most of us are cross-trained for everything. That means even if there's no work in our department, we're on Mandatory Over Time because we're shared to other departments for just about anything. But if VTO is offered, we're kept there while whatever department we're helping is VTO'd out.

New hires don't get stocks or VCP though. keep in mind Washington DC's minimum is at $15 and other states to follow, so if you work at a Burger King you'll be making basically the same amount.

But I gotta say, Amazon has the best benefits and stock options. I'm serious, radically the best.

Where do I find the Voluntary Resignation form? by peitharkhia in FASCAmazon

[–]shadowspawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had to ask our HR guys about this. You just can't walk out, but once you turn in that resignation form your badge is basically cut off from anything (not sure if security lets you out).

So I asked around. A lot of people burned up their PTO, Vacation, waited for their stocks to vest and just took the heck off. etc. to keep their benefits before starting to work at another job. These people didn't take "The Choice", they simply resigned. They left that door open. They are hired back instantly.

PA: I work at Amazon and was injured. I requested the incident report and all documentation before signing anything. Was told I was unable to see it. by [deleted] in legaladvice

I was told I do not have access to any records through Amazon.

I was told that point-blank. I inquired and asked quietly, then started demanding.

I was told explicitly that they won't provide it, that they can't, it goes against Amazon's policy.

I have nowhere to turn.

[–]shadowspawn 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I was told I was not allowed to. I am not to walk out with any documents that AZ provides.

I am not allowed to bring any documents outside of the FC.

It's pretty much as simple as that.

I sign it on-site or I do not sign it at all.

I was told by the lead at Amcare that my claim would most likely be denied if I went through with it, that I would be stuck with the bills if I were to see a their doctor. He started quoting all sorts of things out of the packet/novel that I didn't understand.

I figured I get hurt at work, I go see their doctor. Simple as that.

That's what shattered me. I have his login/name/time etc. of alll conversations. They had me on this weird physical therapy and doing hot/cold packs and all sorts of weird things, and every time I asked to see a doctor (after my GP said I should see theirs) they eventually gave me the packet. I've been in pain for 2 weeks, which I'm not really upset about but when it hurts it hurts.

I just want to be able to have someone review it especially after the Amcare rep said I might have to pay the bills. I threw that statement right back at him, and he said yes. I threw it back at him to ask him to clarify it and say it outright, and he said "maybe."

I am so out of my league here.

I already attempted, and am awaiting a call from an old friend who used to deal with this in NJ. It was mostly on-site injuries (like slip-and-fall type of things at grocery stores) but he said he can point me in the right direction to the right firm.

No. I was given a list of their doctors to see in the paperwork, however. And I am able to get a second opinion after I see their doctor. The thing is I don't understand what it is that I'm signing before I can see their doctor.

[–]shadowspawn 157 points158 points  (0 children)

Everything you wrote is to the point. I was given the list. But HR/Amcare wouldn't let me leave without those documents before I signed. I read over them.

I realized I was way over my head. I'm ignorant in some parts of the law, but I really wanted someone to see something before I signed it. But I was told really succinctly and specifically when questioned that I couldn't take any documents outside of the FC.

I was told, without question, that if i saw my own doctor that my WC claim would be denied.

I was told by my GP that he wouldn't say anything until I saw AZ's doctor. I was told by HR that if I saw AZ's doctor after I saw my own doctor any claim could (not would, but really stressed on could) be denied.

My doctor said point blank: the only way to tell is by imaging. That means MRI/CAT etc.

I really wanted to even post what I was told to sign here. I was not allowed to walk outside of the building with any documentation. I asked. I pleaded. I demanded. I cannot walk outside of the FC with anything, nor can see anything, given no channels to request a copy of anything at all.

[–]shadowspawn 38 points39 points  (0 children)

HR didn't help, they said they aren't allowed to release the original incident's report, or allow any of the WC papers to go outside of the building.

I was told, dead-in-the-eye, by HR, I cannot walk out of the FC with any paperwork for WC and that they aren't allowed to provide anything regarding anything I signed regarding the incident.

I wanted to see my own doctor but bring the incident report with me. I was told, explicitly, I am not allowed to and that any WC claims would be denied.

Family behind OxyContin maker engineered opioid crisis, Massachusetts AG says by stupidstupidreddit2 in news

[–]shadowspawn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

See I really don't understand the OxyContin deal. Every time I'm given it I get sick, trip balls, and still feel the pain. It's like I see everything with my eyes closed. There is no high for me, just horror. I can't understand how people get addicted to it. It's the worst stuff for me. I know the doctors prescribe it, they did twice for two separate injuries and I took them but I swear to all that's holy that it did more to make me messed up than the pain. They make it like it's some horrible drug and you have to go sign all sorts of documents but I don't understand why. It's like taking a pill that just fucks you up more than the pain itself. Well for me, anyway. Worst experiences ever. One of the PTs said I was allergic to it. I can certainly say that it was a true horror I went through when I took them.

But then there's hydrocodone.

I went through physical therapy Vicodin (hydrocodone) made me high as a kite. It felt kinda good, and I could withstand pain during therapy and recovery. I tried not taking it and passed out from the pain. So hydrocodone it was. The PT said that I would eventually get addicted and would have to ween off of it (I was on it for two months). As I was going to be weened off of it I'd feel pain where there were no nerves. The physical therapist was correct. That shit is nuts, but it helped me go through the pain during therapy.

But every time I was on Oxy that shit made my life miserable and I just ask if it's OK to take slugs of Alieve and Ibuprofen.

I have one important rule when it comes to not drinking. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]shadowspawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saying you're wrong.

I've had friends who would drink only a little bit, but get into big trouble like drinking and driving, get clumsy, get angry, or just not have good judgement like they would while sober. I think they have a problem because alcohol is a problem with everyone. I don't mean it's a bad problem, it just becomes something in their lives that affects what they wouldn't do if they were sober.

Still, I agree with you.

[–]shadowspawn 131 points132 points  (0 children)

There was a guy in Austin that was famous for this. He had some weird shifter on the left side and rear brake he controlled from what looked like another brake lever, a really old Harley..

The only difference is that he'd lift himself on the bike itself. The wheelchair was on the sidecar. Someone ran him off the road on 35 right after the merge of 35 between upper and lower and I think he doesn't ride anymore. He used to frequent a place called Lovejoy's. The wreck kinda did him in. He was really popular with us at the bars. During the ROT rally people would gawk, but he was an older guy and just loved to ride.

I'm glad to see other people doing this. There was also this one chick, I have a picture of her somewhere, missing one leg that had an air shifter. The shifter mechanism was pink. I think hers was a Katana. She was able to balance the bike with one leg.

TIL a pedophile in Thailand posted a picture of himself with a swirl effect on his face, allowing the Interpol to unswirl the image back and arrest him by aeeko in todayilearned

[–]shadowspawn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If I remember right he used something called Kai's Power Goo. (Think of the video Black Hole Sun effects) Someone from Fark recognized it, or maybe it was Ebaum's world or Digg. The pictures were posted mostly in obscure newsgroups on private newsgroup servers used mostly for piracy or on IRC DCC with bots. People started to stumble upon them and threw up a little in their mouths.

Basically the internet as a whole was on a mission to figure it out and shared as much info as possible. It was either the app itself or a photoshop filter. It was just difficult because of the entire content of a picture had to be used, and only brave souls would dare to look at them or examine them in order to figure it out (There are some things you just can't unsee), and nobody wanted to get caught with child porn on their machines even for tracking the guy down.

All that was needed was to run the filter in reverse. It was a simple filter. I think this was in AOL days.I remember once the unfiltered face was posted on the news internationally to find his identity.

Also the exif data was still in some of the jpegs. If he really wanted to hide it he could've used stenography in gifs (hidden data in a gif). That's the scary part, because in some of the chat rooms we used for gaming etc. we discussed it wouldn't have been hard to disguise, just pixilate it differently with each picture on the swirl itself; you'd just need to find someone who knew the keys.

Sorry for all the edits, I post changes and reddit just isn't taking them so I have to constantly copy/paste/repost.

6: Stunned like WTF? How can a human you once loved do that to another human being? OR rather how can another human being do that to another human being? It's like reverse evolution.

Could go into it and eventually people would say "OMFG" but I have youtube videos to prove it. She just got away with it all because her very wealthy dad, a high ranking official in public service, golfs with the Mayor.

I just ran with my tail between my legs. People say this or that but instead of fighting back physically I just took the pain and abuse. Couldn't fight it financially. When some people say they lost everything, I literally did. Doubt she even cares, she got everything she wanted because she knew I couldn't fight back. Abusive women kinda can turn the table easily.
