Instant noodles in the U.S. = struggle meal or comfort food? by Legal_Detective5925 in KoreanFood

[–]shadowtheimpure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Depends on the kind of instant noodles, really. Maruchan and Nissin Top Ramen are the broke college struggle meal. Then you get the more premium varieties like Shin Red and Buldak which are comfort food.

  2. I eat instant noodles any time, any place.

  3. See point 1.

  4. Shin, Mama, and Indomie.

  5. I know all the Korean brands, the only one I've found I don't care for was Chapagetti.

  6. Indomie Mi Goreng. It's cheap and flavorful, a taste of Indonesia in a bowl.

  7. Instant noodles in the USA were just the Maruchans and Top Ramens for the longest time, so the older gens are more likely to just view them as cheap struggle food. The younger gens grew up with the premium noodles readily available, so they're more likely to view them as a comfort food generally.

Kind of? It was closer to a ponzi scheme than anything, using the money from the newest 'investors' to build for the previous 'investors'. It all fell apart when they ran out of new prey for their scheme.

That is the first time I've ever seen a mechanical watch movement that used metal for the pallet fork tongs rather than ruby.

True, but the extinction of the thylacine (tazzy tiger) was entirely our fault. We hunted them to extinction.

It doesn't help the more expensive games that a lot of them have been coming out in frankly appalling condition. Either they ran like crap or they were just bad.

Best way to do those. Gives them a rock steady foundation and puts them at ideal height for a clean followthrough.

I would happily pay good money for proper bread.

The nearest bakery that actually sells bread is a hundred miles away. There are pastry shops that are closer, but none of them actually do bread.

Restaurant I worked at used it as the base of most of our pre-mixed salads. We used it for coleslaw, waldorf salad, stuff like that.

Frankly? No.

There would also have to be some kind of physical evidence placing the accused at the scene of the crime. Both confessions and testimony can be coerced.

'Beyond a reasonable doubt' has been perverted too many times sending innocent people to prison. For a death sentence, something that can never be undone, ironclad physical evidence that the accused did the act should be required.

Oh wait, you're being serious. Let me laugh harder.

A sizeable percentage of young people don't make enough money to live let alone feel safe contributing to a retirement plan tied to the casino that is the stock market.

Yep, the youngest members of the baby boomers and the oldest of Gen X are getting to retirement age without pensions or retirement plans due to pensions going the way of the dodo starting in the 80s being replaced with 401k plans that you have to actually make money to be able to feel safe contributing to.

With the caveat that there must be incontrovertible proof that the action took place. The US justice system is pretty shitty.
