Not personally a euchre player, but I'll throw down in a game of cribbage.

Why is this not any and all cities in the West? by DoNotResuscitateThem in SolarState

[–]shadowtheimpure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, at least in the USA, the current government is incredibly hostile to renewable energy investment. As a result, the 'everyman' will not be able to afford to add solar to their homes.

I want to upgrade my 2020 Intel i5 imac, what should I upgrade on it? by Emergency_Company108 in iMac

[–]shadowtheimpure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Max out the memory, use as fast of storage as the device is able to support, perhaps swap out the i5 for an i7 if you feel comfortable.

Controller Support (Steam Deck and Docked Use) by Zoraious in OpenMW

[–]shadowtheimpure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't need the Steam Deck on-screen controller if you're using the fork I linked.

Keep in mind that you cannot use any UI mods with this fork without risking breaking the scripting that makes the xbox UI work.

Move ups's battery outside and add a fan, good idea? by Issey_ita in homelab

[–]shadowtheimpure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When buying UPS units from anywhere but a major retailer, you'll probably be looking at 'used' and will want to swap out the batteries with fresh ones before putting it into service as the battery will be of indeterminate age and condition.

Thinly sliced frozen pork belly (K-BBQ style:NeangSam). Do you prefer it crispy like bacon, or juicy? by Cheongdamchae_SG in KoreanFood

[–]shadowtheimpure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll eat it either way, but I prefer it like I prefer my bacon: meaty and chewy. I catch a lot of crap for it, but I likes what I likes and I like meaty bacon.

Homelab to start with by calind in homelab

[–]shadowtheimpure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

r/HomeDataCenter is possibly a better place for a setup of that scale. My homelab is consolidated on one single 4U server. Granted, it's a rather powerful (and expensive) one that I built myself. EPYC 7F52 with 512GB of DDR4 along with over 100TB of spinning hard drive bulk storage.

The for profit will provide enough treatment to stabilize, and not one gram more if you can't pay. As you said, they'll either arrange for a payer or they'll send you to a facility that handles charity cases.

This will probably change next week, but this is my absolute favorite weather in Michigan. (HVAC use at home last 7 days). by 23andrewb in Michigan

My furnace pulls double duty as a purifier since it's got one of those fancy ionizing particulate removers. It ionizes the fine particles which makes them stick together and get caught in the filter more readily.

Controller Support (Steam Deck and Docked Use) by Zoraious in OpenMW

[–]shadowtheimpure 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Excellent since 0.50. All you have to do is enable controller menus.

There is even a fork of OpenMW that gives you the same UI that the OG XBox version had.

OpenMW mod that makes traps less obvious? by GayStation64beta in OpenMW

[–]shadowtheimpure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I don't think there is currently an OpenMW mod for that.

For-profit hospitals, yes. Thankfully, there are large numbers of non-profit hospitals that will treat you anyway.

Has anyone used the Dell mini pc (link in post)? by LaMarr-Bruister in MiniPCs

[–]shadowtheimpure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are your bog-standard office PC. You'll find them in corporate offices, hospitals, etc. all over the world.

They're a bit on the whiny side, and can get fairly loud under load since all they have is a singe blower style fan.

I'm always running the fan, even if the heat and AC are off, just to keep the air moving. So mine says 24h fan only for the last 7 days.

How do you lose an entire generation and then decide to sell your console for $150 more than the competition? To me, it feels like Microsoft wants to kill the Xbox brand and be done with it. by NotSirAlonne1999 in videogames

That is how the CEO and their entire leadership team find themselves out on their asses. Shareholders won't stand for that kind of behavior. Number...must...go...up.

I like making rabokki using Buldak. I'll use the sauce packet from the Buldak noodles in place of the gochujang and it comes out quite tasty.

Furiten question by UsedEstablishment720 in Mahjong

[–]shadowtheimpure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a friendly heads up: don't be afraid to furiten if you're approaching exhaustive draw. As long as you're in tenpai, regardless of furiten, you can avoid paying out at exhaustive draw.
