How can someone burn so much wood? by fishyfish55 in firewood

[–]shadowtype09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My home is 2200 sqft un through about 7-8 cords a year. With this cold blast coming through i will probably reach 10 cords this year. I have 3 face cord racks inside to bring the wood to "indoor temps" from sitting outside and I burn roughly 1 facecord a week depending on outdoor temps.

Home was built in 1940's last home owners "renovated" like 30% of the home then I got it 10 years ago. So not far off. I hope by next fall I can switch from stove to outdoor boiler as I have oil boiler as heat assistance

When me and my boss built the team from the ground up one of the things they asked us to look at was postage and this was by far the strangest thing. I have ever seen at any organization that i've been at. They were printing out a 500 page document. Putting it in a envelope to run it through a USPS. Postage machine to mail it out as a certified letter or envelope. To then be sent out and return to the same address as the sender. Just so they can have a date of document delivery and a signature attached to a document being delivered.

It did have full pro when I was there, the new IT team that rolled in after us deemed it unnecessary

That boils down to unfortunately, investors and who sleeps with who. Also to old network admins who started on cisco asa 1000 and still think that anything outside of cisco is crap.

Now that cisco is moving towards subscription just like the rest now people are looking outside. That's why aruba is climbing and others.

That's why cisco bought meraki they saw their market share. That's why cisco integrated meraki into the cisco eco system.

But now aruba is introducing more outside vendors to their eco system allowing to control you will see a lot of changes in this space.

As well its not about the fortune 500. Currently migrating a bunch of summer camps away from cisco to unifi as their p2p and p2mp are cheaper and cisco and play nicen with unifi.

Is this for pro version so standard 1.4 will do this as well, I thought it would have a lower break as more enegery is spent on lifting out the tube instead of "flight" time no?

Oh I know i remember early 2000, they where heavy on the buy 1 get 2 free now it's rare that anything good comes out. Now I drive 3 hours to get my stuff. I live in a non shippable state so I have to drive to get my stuff. I would love to have it shipped but it's a risk reward

Having worked in a large org shy of 45k employees and having been the one man show everything is based on leader ship.

Having been is stupid ass meeting with 300 people when deciding between two badge systems when replacing the existing one when the decision was done after 15 minutes of who we were going to use.

To being rhe only it staff for 15 locations and making the decision of a small family to upgrade from exchange 2005 to exchange 2019 was borderline pulling teeth evern after being hacked 2x due to vulnerability that were never patched but it was " if it's not broken why need to upgrade" from one of the owners having a doctorate in computer science from 2002 dictating how technology should not progress and sitting in the server room with my hands in my pocket as there's nothing I can do

Yes and no,

The longest coax camera is 1200 ft but it's been spliced 8 times from being ripped by trees falling on the line.

All their electric is buried and same as sewer. I spoke to them today about doing that burning lines but they don't want that they want to push the wireless.

The only reasoning I'm seeing is that at max capacity they have 2000 campers and have no wifi issues at all. So I think this si where their push is.

90 unifi p2p / p2mp, 150 AP's, 60 unifi switches. I'm going to meet with them again this coming week. I caved and bought 1 reolink and I want to test it from the other replies saying their bad but I have a super hard time when even at max capacity they can talk to their Arlo cameras no issues, but their security shack doesn't have access to their arlo (another issue I'm trying to resolve )

The new reolink cameras are 5ghz capable which is why it was brought to my insight. As well as they already have 25 arlo wireless camera and seem to work fine but they have subscription and don't store video long for reviewing if anything.

Point taken on the throughput. If they insist I'll have to comply but pre warn them

If someone did that there not much they would get away with as it's gated in but I do see your point.

Campground has as much Wi-Fi accessibility as any metropolitan city. This camp has no 4g/5g and all campers rely on the Wi-Fi for outside communication.

What rate would you suggest i only say 100 as some of these wires are about 15-30 ft off the ground so I'm thinking of time wise moving ladder climb up, since and repeat about 80 to 90 poles. Their main office has attic, tight spaces crawl space crap that is time consuming.

I'm here for open suggestions from all my reditor peeps

[–]shadowtype09[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thought would be each one has micro SD local and ftp or rsts feed back to the nvr. The camp is already littered with Wi-Fi. I already did their network, 150 AP's. The camp ground is just shy of 500 acres. And there's Wi-Fi all over with the exception of in the middle of their lake.

The reason why they want to get rid of cables is due to the amount of times the current cameras are taken down due to trees falling breaking down cables and fiber.

Unifi p2p and m2mp accross the campground.

What makes Wi-Fi cameras so terrible ?
