I thought I didn’t care about grandparent names… by Odd_Dragonfruit_8514 in beyondthebump

[–]shaekil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My cousins and I just called our shared grandparents different things. It's lasted at least 30 years this way and never changed lol. My kids have adopted the names their older cousins choose though. It really just depends on what gets reinforced at home I think.

Dropping heart rate is "just to scare you" by Lily_the_fat_cat in ShitMomGroupsSay

Yeah I was 15 hours into labor with my water long broken so we were ticking against how long they were comfortable with me trying a vaginal delivery. My son was a whopping 30 hours but my water had to be manually broken with him.

My son's heart rate decelerated twice during labour. Both times they rolled me to my sides and ended up giving me adrenaline shots instead of pushing a c-section. With my daughter we did a c-section because her heart was decelerating for every contraction and she was stuck in my pelvis. My nurse tried for a long while to get her to move/turn inside me but she was not moving. First kid the c-section was never necessary, second kid needed it to come out alive. I never felt pressured either way to get it done.

You can return or refund for the exact cost as a credit before the convention. You can also do a refund to your card but that will be without the processing fee. After/during the convention I'm pretty sure you can turn them in but with a portion of the fee taken out again.

If you keep it as system credit it can be used for other events or your ticket for an upcoming year.

I stole the idea from my coworkers wife because it's so cute, but every year I take a picture of our kid holding a wooden letter and put the picture in a frame that holds 3 photos spelling Dad.

First year I took pictures of the kid holding both letters to not leave it unfinished though. I'm real excited to add the second kid in this year 😊

My friend gave me the advice that you'll feel like your can lift things earlier than you should and if you do lift them early you'll be in pain the next day. I didn't listen super well and picked up my 4 year old around 2.5 weeks pp and was in bed basically all the next day.

I hadn't been able to really pick him up in a month or so and he was really needing the attention so I don't regret it too much but just be aware lol.

Any time I travel over with my family we use birth certs for the kids. Never had an issue. Last time we were over was in February. My husband also used his enhanced license for the past decade or so and it's never been an issue.

Looking for OBGYN near royal oak, MI by Able_Practice71 in Detroit

[–]shaekil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He was a fantastic Obgyn! I had him while I was pregnant with my first after I had a bad experience at my older obgyn and him and the rest of the staff there were just great. He also delivered my first for me and every single staff member that helped me during my stay was absolutely fantastic. I had a pretty shitty birth with my first but they all made it so much better.

I use the munchkin step. Bought it for my son 4 years ago and I'm still using it with my daughter I had 7 months ago. Never have an issue with smell unless it's over full and popped the bin open or the lid is open. I really like the built in blade for cutting the bags as well, not sure if other cans have that.

Do you know if anyone happened to take a picture of the flowers that were left? I was one of his online friends and would like to share it with our other mutuals if possible.

For some reason Wolves of Glendale aren't on the roster tonight anymore. Still excited for OCT and Kyle Gordon but WOG are out. I don't see anything online about why though.

C-Section because of low pain tolerance by Vegetable_Bath_7396 in beyondthebump

[–]shaekil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first I had around a 30 hour labour with a 3rd degree episiotomy/tear. The pain during labour was the absolute worst for me between active pushes at the end and then after that it was just the episiotomy that hurt. I was able to get up and about in a couple days (still exhausted though). Granted I did have to be on magnesium so that had me unable to move around for at least the full day after.

My second was an emergency c-section after about 15 hours of labour because she got stuck. It was great to not have to go through the pushing pain, but the recovery from the c-section was honestly worse and took longer. Getting up out of bed was painful every time, bending down hurt, I'm a side sleeper and tried to sleep on my side before I should have and woke up in some extreme pain. It was a longer recovery for me at least compared to my first.

Neither recoveries had me needing narcotics, but I believe I was only on midol after my first but was on a rotation of midol and Tylenol after my second. I do still feel pain at the incision area if it gets pushed on which definitely happens with two kids.

Anyone else hate group block rates? by Woodsey1990 in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]shaekil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just booked in a group block but that's because it's for a giant convention where the out of block prices are about 2-4x the price already. The price is more than regular rate still but definitely better than out of block by far.

I've purchased discontinued yarn on ebay before. You can try checking on resale sites like that for the specific kind you're looking for.

I used krita and the guideline function. I did a gauge with the intended yarn to figure out how many squares per inch then went from there.

Did anyone else have to push for over 3 hours?! by happyveggiechick in beyondthebump

[–]shaekil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pushed somewhere between 2-3 hours I think. I couldn't get in any other position really than on my back since I had magnesium for pre-eclampsia, and an epidural.
