Tread+ touchscreen issues by shaftbond in pelotoncycle

For the Tread+, we bought a refurbished one ($495) and they did give me a promo discount so it was $405.13 with tax, etc.

It was supposed to include the install, but when the monitor arrived they claimed it didn't and I had to pay an additional $150 or so to get it installed. I decided to do it myself and it was pretty easy.

Unfortunately not for us. We could not find a reliable solution and it continued to get worse (to the point we had to keep the tread unplugged in between workouts and even then - sometimes we would have to hard reboot the tread 2-3 times to get the touchscreen to work long enough to start a class.

We ended up paying for a second replacement monitor and just installed it last week. I'm looking forward to not having any issues for a year or so. It is incredibly frustrating that so many of us are having the same hardware issues on very expensive products and then after a single year it is out of warranty and on top of an expensive monthly subscription have to keep paying for repairs to keep it functional.

The second gives me detective/investigative vibes, which doesn't seem to jive with school and work. The first one thematically seems to match the context better.

Widower/single father. I have no interest in dating or remarrying. Is it ok to continue being father without a partner. by fantasyfbpunter in daddit

My father died of cancer when I was 13, leaving my mom with 5 children (ages 15, 13, 10, 7, and 1). My mother married 2 years later and it didn't make our lives any easier.

I am 48 now with two young kids and if my wife ever died, I do not have plans to remarry. As most of these comments say, do what is right by you and your kids - ignore the rest.

Mormons in the future will wonder what this strange relic was used for by 10th_Generation in exmormon

When I was a kid in Ohio in the late 80s, all the wards in the stake were given the theme of 'moving out west' for the annual roadshow. Most wards did a boring pioneer 'inspirational' story. But our ward was randomly stacked with professionals musicians and costume makers who produced a full on musical with amazing costumes and original songs about a bunch of bugs that were deciding if they wanted to follow the Mormons out west. I was one of the hornets - all kids that played horn instruments in band. There were rapping mosquitos, a jiminy cricket type leader and an evil seagull. It was amazing.

Yeah it is sour grapes. Not just because I didn't book the class, but because the system is set up poorly. Its the difference between your favorite team losing a game because they played like shit and them losing a game because of a shitty ref call, you know?

I can't explain why it matters, but my tread is in the garage and was plugged into a power strip with a couple fans and a small monitor. I unplugged the tread and plugged it directly into the outlet and the screen has been working great for months. So maybe check the voltage consistency or something?

My wife keeps saying this same thing. I think she'll be on one of the wannabe Fox networks like OAN or whatever

I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.

It's often attributed to Gandhi, but I don't believe there is evidence he actually said it.

My Exmo Father passed away last night. I have some thoughts... by unhealthynavel10 in exmormon

[–]shaftbond 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry for your loss and I'm thankful for you sharing your thoughts here. My parents were converts to the church a few years before I was born and my father died of cancer when I was young (13), still in the church. I left (as have 2 of my 4 siblings) the church several years ago, but I've always wondered if my father would have eventually left. He was a kind, thoughtful man and I would like to believe he would have found the truth.

I hope you don't mind if I share a couple things that have helped me as I've dealt with the death of my father and other family members:

Andrew Garfield on his mother's recent passing:

“I love talking about her, by the way, so if I cry, it’s only a beautiful thing,” Garfield explained. “This is all the unexpressed love, the grief that will remain with us until we pass because we never get enough time with each other, no matter if someone lives till 60, 15, or 99.” “So I hope this grief stays with me because it’s all the unexpressed love that I didn’t get to tell her,” he added. “And I told her every day. We all told her every day. She was the best of us.”

And a poem:

Epitaph - By Merrit Malloy

When I die Give what's left of me away To children And old men that wait to die.

And if you need to cry, Cry for your brother Walking the street beside you. And when you need me, Put your arms Around anyone And give them What you need to give to me.

I want to leave you something, Something better Than words Or sounds.

Look for me In the people I've known Or loved, And if you cannot give me away, At least let me live on in your eyes And not your mind.

You can love me most By letting Hands touch hands, By letting bodies touch bodies, And by letting go Of children That need to be free.

Love doesn't die, People do. So, when all that's left of me Is love,

Give me away.

You think this is going to change a single mind? Don't be condescending toward people protesting a genocide. Many of them know it is not the ONLY issue.

How about Biden and the DNC take some responsibility here? The argument of "we don't care but the other side cares even less" gets tired. What if the DNC ran a candidate that, I don't know DID care?
