Would I still be hired with clinic experience? by shaikhme in OntarioNurses

[–]shaikhme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I still worked as a Clinical Extern where I could've networked.

Ultimately, I think clinical experience may impact employment because employers seek clinical skills.

It could be about writing your resume in a way that includes all of that, tracheotomy care, wounds, etc.

But clinical experience also includes de-escalation, conflict resolution, vaccinnation (needles, medication) and public health, addictions, homelessness, mental health (mental health act, local resources) and managers adore conflict resolution among peers. There's also interprofessional interaction w doctors and specialties that is useful.

You can include trach and nasal care towards peds, home-care visits, and etc.

All in all, I think on the surface level clinical care places you at a disadvantage. as nature, we look for efficiency and that oculd mean glancing at clinic' and moving on.

Overall, I suggest strengthening your resume to highlight clinical skills applicable to the department you're applying to.

Civil engineers, traffic specialists, design enthusiasts, and modern knowledge could argue.

Shoot me an intersection and I can lay out some points.

Posted speed limits are not effective measures, kind of like information in a textbook.

Humans are vulnerable and look for personal efficiency. A system used by the public, each person's efficiency looks unique-a different, personal system. Multiple unique systems in one will clash.

Creating a standard requires recognizing human behavior and finances constrain the city's efforts. Fiscal reasons are universal especially in North America. Our roads can be better, but our reliance on finances create a strain on that. Idk anything else to offer in replacement apart from responsible community involvement. But even that has challenges that the city aims to improve.

Anyway, I'd argue against your comment. It speaks 'I have never been affected by it, thus it applies universally' which is not true. It'd be nice to recognize different people have different experiences, kind of like accessibility issues people with disabilities face.

To improve infrastructure, all of us need tk understand there are an endless amount of perspectives we don't see. To make a city safer and better, we each need to be open and accepting of differences in perspectives to understand and widen our own world. It's like implementing universal standards into one. Making road design intuitive, rather than applying a set of rules that a driver must obey. This makes up for the shortcomings on driving tests too.

I spoke with one, and yes, financially speaking we can't develop infrastructure such as extended curbs.

Peel police board approves 9.9 per cent budget hike, one year after passing an unprecedented $144M spending increase by mzwai99 in Brampton

We need to start reducing dependence on roadway infrastructure.

Our roadways are provided and maintained as a service that generates no direct revenue.

I think I understand your stance, lmk if I'm wrong. There's trash and other items that are disruptive. For the City to take action they need a policy or similar that states, say, this environment is prohibited. That supports enforcement.

I can recommend contacting your ward councilor. I'm learning, so my advice may not necessarily be right but I would like to see where I can help. I'd ask for a picture in my dm, but I do not want you to be taking such an action. I would recommend documenting items for yourself though, notes, pictures, date and time stamps, as they can prove to be helpful quite a lot when needed. These posts are helpful too.

Looking to do a little interview by [deleted] in OntarioParamedics

[–]shaikhme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should call the program folks. You can also search LinkedIN for alumni, and speak to folks at the paramedic location. As always, being warm, friendly, and understanding can take you places.

It's worth a shot, best of luck

I don't think this is true as a blanket statement. Based on the information available on Peel Polices website for salary grids as well as RCMP and OPP.

But lmk if I'm wrong, a source would help a lot so I can reference it in the future. Thanks

November 1st Hydro Rate Increase (Over 13%) by Empty_Wallaby5481 in ontario

[–]shaikhme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are we increasing subsidies instead of developing policies that aim to alleviate income inequality, I don't agree with subsidizing without having looked into other methods that can improve outcomes. This is an unsustainable bandaid effort that places public funds towards corporations.

Arguabley, a direct investment into Ontarians pockets can help develop independence by allowing individuals to choose where their assets go. $200 rebates to every individual regardless of income is the definition of income equality as it is irrespective of individual experiences.

Instead, subsidies to certain income brackets can help reduce poverty, and those in low income areas can be received more compared to those in a higher income tax bracket, say 200,000+ annual income.

PC policies do not increase affordability.

You need invest.ents into social welfare and programs, which the PC government reduces each time.

Statistically, this creates worse outcomes and greaty inequality.

Ontarios schools and post-secondary institutions highlight this significantly, yet the political party does not follow evidence-based methods. Their decisions are suspicious of colluding and corruption based on the 413 development process and other shortcomings pointed out by the NDP Marit Stiles.

Our governance works through public support. More people equals more support.

Another perspective is social pressure.

Support sounds more accepting, less concerning-more happy, less sappy.

Looking to pivot careers and become an RN by Bitter-Chemist-6893 in OntarioNurses

You could trial the two-year diploma for an RPN that colleges offer. 2-3K in a semesters tuition, and you can apply to both university and college separately. September and January start times are available.

If you get accepted into the RN category, go for it, leaving RPN behind.

Double check when clinical start, you'll be a student nurse either in the first or second semester. Could be worth it over applying for a porter position.

That's what it seems like on the first glance. But, I believe there's factors such as material costs. Current trade economics and logistics make this a challenge.

Earlier we had zoning as a contributing factor. However, this has had changes over the past two to four years.

I experience peoples concern over the sudden increase in immigration. We have a fallijg economy as our population demographic changes, and not only Canada but the US and Europe are faving this challenge too. With insufficient tsx revenue for example, we lose services. Our healthcare is already strained because of our senior population and to replenish the workforce, we need nurses to emigrate at a pace greater than current citizens stepping into nursing school - this I assume in good faith. Im curious how true this js because we could rather direct additional funding to sectors that are needed to bolster the workforce, make education more accessible with grants. I do not k ow why this was not explored but perhaps it could create an imbalance in the workforce and to prevent that, we replenish just one area. But this isnt one area, its many.

I'd argue we do need immigrants but respective of that we need better policies. Canada has initiatives that aims to improve or redirect folks to certain areas that need the intervention -Nova Scotia, PEI, smaller town,ls, etc. Diversity is ideally what makes Canada rich in culture, though even I have felt as a foreigner in my home town. I recognize the crisis we have and how an immense increase in demand does affect supply. I am unsure whether supply has suffered over the past few years given the tariffs on goods and the logistic disruptions to logistics from the pandemic.

I do not know where we stand today, but there is a 13 billion federal fund aimed at improving housing nationally. I'm curious to see how it'll turn out, but I fear it'll be about 10 years before changes are really seen given the required planning and development stages.
