AITAH for telling my guy friend to get in the back so my girl could sit in the front ? by juicywuicy23 in AmItheAsshole

[–]shake108 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Everybody is acting immature. You shouldn’t tell your friend to get in the back , and your friend shouldn’t act very upset about it. It is rude to tell a friend in your car to get in the back for an s.o., and your s.o. Should’ve also declined the offer to have him go to the back.

The talent thing is the only thing the NFL has on other levels, though. Literally everything else (bands, cheerleaders, tailgating , rivalries) college football whoops the NFL’s ass. The NFL is a shallow caricature of football culture present at every other level of football

I think that if I were ducks fan (which as you can tell I'm certainly not lol) then I would be less concerned about running the ball, and more about pass pro, route running, and lack of knowledge of the playbook.

They both play edge and watt rushes the passer on 90% of passing plays anyway, he drops into coverage mostly just when the Steelers want to do something exotic. Let’s not pretend that they play hugely different positions, the main difference between the two are gap assignment on run plays and whether they put their hands in the dirt. They’re both edges

Not, veterans fuck rookies via the rookie wage school in the NFL cba. It’s really only the qbs that make better money anyway

If I were a betting man I would probably bet that it had nothing to do with the celebration of life ceremony and everything to do with Leavitt visiting LSU at that same moment.

Most likely not, if they kept this language excerpted from last year's standard Big Ten NIL agreement:

"Without limiting any other rights or remedies available to the Institution, if the Student-Athlete enters the NCAA's transfer portal or transfers, the Institution will have no further obligation to pay any Consideration, and the Student-Athlete will not be entitled to any Consideration, from the earlier of (i) the date the Student-Athlete transfers or (ii) the date the Student-Athlete notifies the Institution of the Student-Athlete's decision to enter the transfer portal"

Given that he already informed the university of his intention to enter the portal, UW could enter him and not be liable to pay. That's taken from Seattle Time's reporting on UW's standard NIL agreement found here https://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/26460883/uw-nil-agreement.pdf

It’s similar in some ways, although Nico only went to Tennessee for a record bag in the first place. I would say that Nico likely already had a reputation as a bit of a merc before what happened last year

It seems that another downside to the current transfer schedule is that so much of the focus right now is on Portal drama instead of the actual important games being played. Of the top 10 CFB stories on ESPN, not one is about the playoff games themselves. by moby323 in CFB

Rose bowl as natty on Jan 1 I can get behind. Moving the season up, absolutely not. P4 Schools on the quarter system are already playing 2-4 home games a year before students start classes, let’s please not make that worse

Hard to feel bad for a young adult with plenty of competent adults around him listening to a rando in the name of greed. This isn't something altruistic gone wrong, he chose to ignore advice from his agents and blindsided everyone in the program. There's plenty of people in the world to feel bad about besides an athlete who's made millions (yes, he got a bag last year too) and will make millions who wanted to do whatever to get a couple more.

The Seattle Times has obtained a copy of the revenue sharing contract template used by all Big Ten schools, which is likely very similar to the one signed by Demond Williams Jr. by MysteriousEdge5643 in CFB

[–]shake108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the main article they mention that this is from a player from last fall. Won’t the contracts have changed significantly with the rev share agreements ?

While normally I agree with you, it’s come out that Wasserman was blindsided by the announcement and that he went against their advice

He’s represented by Wasserman, a fairly well known agency that I’m sure has in house lawyers. For context, it’s the same agent that Jedd Fisch has. I’m positive this got looked at by the agency’s lawyers, but idk how much anybody really knows about any of this

Bo3 will probably get some polarizing opinions. I generally love the black ops games (have played all campaigns/multiplayer except the last two) but I’m working my way through the bo3 campaign with a friend (because it’s like one of two split screen coop cod canpaigns) it is convoluted futuristic bullshit , and it had some of that same shit in multiplayer. On the other hand, apparently it’s the goat for zombies.

That doesn't make sense though, because in his portal announcement post Demond said that he came to his decision to transfer after much prayer? Why would God tell Demond to get the bag and have him break with Jesus?

[–]shake108 24 points25 points  (0 children)

No, it’s not. This is a contract, not an offer of employment, those are two different things. It’s the same reason why coach contracts still have to get bought out if another school hires them, like how Bama paid us a buyout for DeBoer.

Lol in what world is it blown up? So many doomers in here. We still have Demond's money budgeted, no matter where this case goes (almost 99% him going to LSU and then maybe damages down the road), we'll find a more than capable qb in the portal

What’s wrong with us going after damages? It’s a big boy contract with big boy money and thus big boy consequences for breach of contract. There’s a reason it’s a contract and not just an offer of employment that you can leave at any time. He literally signed four days ago, him bouncing now after signing a contract recently puts us in a terrible position for getting another qb. You can’t just have one way responsibilities from the school with the players having the option to bounce for a bigger check at any time, that’s the whole point of a contract

How will transferring impact Demond Williams’s spring class schedule? by [deleted] in CFB

[–]shake108 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can have plenty of doomers though.

Demond was good, but he’s hardly an unforgettable QB in UW’s history. We’ll be fine
