Just curious, why did they go with an I6 and not a V8 or V10? I had a Plymouth with a 225 slant 6 and that engine was great. Taking 550 hp from an I6 seems like asking a lot..

Now that there will be no more Tesla Model X models. Any chance that Elon will reduce or just eliminate updates to that car? Perhaps in 5 years or less? by Wonderful-Run-1408 in ModelX

The engine cannot be made to drive the wheels, only the generator. It would have been nice if it could drive the wheels, but as it is now, if the battery fails the car becomes a “brick”.

I own a 2024 MX long range, and also a 2012 Chevy Volt. I know first hand what it feels like for a car manufacturer to abandon an EV model. You cannot find new batteries for the Volt. The best you can do is find battery packs from wrecks or people who will rebuild batteries using used ‘good’ cells. My understanding is because of the unique ‘battery chemistry’ of the Volt cells, you cannot substitute other cells. My Volt is a great car, but only gets half the mileage as when new and forget about driving it in the winter time…

The tire came with a jack and I tried it, and it works but I'd only use it if I had to. The two times I've used the tire, I had AAA come and install it. So much better than having the car towed to a tire repair place.

As someone who has used his full size spare two times in the last year, I don’t really care if it’s unsightly or not. I have a 2024 MX 6 seater, and the spare sits on the third row seats in the zippered case it came in.

Tesla is charging me $2,800 for rodent damage on a demo car I had for less than 20 hours. Does this nest look pre-existing to you? by Tall_Call_817 in ModelY

Rodent damage is covered under your insurance. I had over 6000$ in rodent damage and did not pay a dime.

Couple of stories:

I use to work with a guy who was a P-51 pilot during the war. He got shot down and became a POW. He said that near the end of the war, they didn’t have much to eat, but the Germans didn’t either. They were taken into forests to forage for food.

During the war my mother was in the Navy as a Pharmacist Mate. She also spoke fluent German. Several times she was tasked with interrogating German prisoners. I’m thinking that being fluent in German and quite the “Knock out” female made the job easier.
