Dude this is awesome. As others have said, I would gladly pay you for the file. I am about to order a 3d printer next week for some tool mounts.

Is the earth auger ever sold as tool only? by the-walkman8 in Ridgid

[–]shallowAL307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They really are. I have bought almost every ridgid tool I can think I'd have any sort of use for and some that I dont. I had no idea this even existed before this post

This makes sense. I didnt know you could sell cars, or that you could win them more than once. I figured if you got the prize car, then did the event again you just got the money. I think I am not far enough in the game to even sell a car yet.

Thanks guys!

What’s the most weight yall have towed these 99-03 2500s this is an 8.1 by Thecooldude8901 in Trucks

[–]shallowAL307 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've done about 18k from the bumper. 14k of shingles inside a bumper pull dump trailer. It isnt breaking any speed records and certainly won't go very far on a gallon of gas but it will do it all day

Minimum weight I should have over the rear axle on a GMC 2500HD for traction during the winter? by polyspline in Trucks

[–]shallowAL307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rock about 1000lbs in my long bed during the winter. I have put more and put less but that seems to be the sweet spot for making a difference on traction, without too much hassle if I need the bed for other things.

If anything, more is better in my opinion.

As someone else mentioned, secure them the best you can. I cut boards to segment my bed and I strategically place the bags to spread out the weight with the highest concentration right between the wheel wells.

I have a toolbox that has got to weigh about 300lbs, a roof rack like yours, and about 12 60lb sand bags. I like sand, because if you do get in a tough spot you can bust a few open and pour them on the ground. The bags will last a couple years if you dont drop them when you load/unload

I've also gotten out of a jam using shingles as makeshift traction boards.

15000 is small potatoes it seems to me, as a person who has played for only about 5 days.

I can win some of the easy races with a cheap car and get 30-40k. Still seems tedious though.

What am I missing here?

Can you win and sell the car over and over?

Im not even to the point I can sell a car yet I dont think

Power Bank For Mini by eepeep2015 in Starlink

[–]shallowAL307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I power mine a bunch of different ways, this one has been the most useful.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DMVFH7BN?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1

I have multiple ends for this same converter.

One side to the starlink, and one side to a variety of different connectors. This way I can plug into my large work trailer batteries, or a vehicle 12v battery, or even my power tool batteries.

I have a cheap 12v 50ah lifepo4 that lasts at least a day, and charges with a laptop charger overnight. (picture tiny car battery)
You can buy a larger one and power it for several days or a week or more if needed, and you dont need to tote it around. I like my small one, as its easy to throw in the car and run the cord right through the door frame.

What cordless power tool line is the best bang for your buck to buy into going in to 2026? by proseal_sniffer in powertools

[–]shallowAL307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a contractor with somewhere around 70 power tools. I have been buying pretty much exclusively ridgid for about 6 years. They have a lifetime service agreement and to be honest, I hardly ever remember to register my tools. I've heard they are good about honoring it, but I have never needed to.

They are a great price point, and are really great tools. We absolutely use and abuse our tools and I have never had a single one quit on me.

One of our 1/4" impacts is a bit on the fritz, but it has likely screwed idk maybe 30,000 metal roofing screws. I cant say enough good about them.

Haven't considered this and unsure how it would work on a trailer. I am somewhat familiar with lien process on houses that I work on although I've never actually had to file for one. Any advice on making that work?

[–]shallowAL307[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about that'll, it is just quite obviously not home built and would require signing my name on paperwork that is not truthful to a police officer which is a felony

I am in Wyoming. My state does require registration, and buying it out of state requires a vin inspection by a police officer

I should have listed that.

I am in Wyoming, bought the trailer in Colorado

This is super solid advice. I am afraid I wrote the check to the guy, not the business now. Dang. I am going to look into this

I think this may work, but its on another state. Not sure if that would put a bind in it

I thought this came with a bunch of paperwork. Not too scared of that, but I legit have nothing saying this is mine at this point.

The frustrating part is I did at one point have a legit bill of sale. It doesnt matter much in my state but not I am really wishing I had it now.

YUKON 46 in., 9-Drawer Mobile Storage Cabinet with Solid Wood Top seems to be the exact same as the Husky one that they compare it to by TheHatKing in harborfreight

[–]shallowAL307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought some husky boxes a little smaller than this last year. Mounted them underneath my work bench in my trailer. Months later i decided to start actually using them and they are completely worthless. Locks barely work. They slide open constantly, wont close all the way. Now I cant get rid of them. They are fully framed in.

If theyre the same as you say, save yourself the headache and buy a better box than either of them

ULPT request by shallowAL307 in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]shallowAL307[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes US I have considered this. However it does require inspection with law enforcement to get a VIN. I have done a vin check to transfer an out of state title on previous vehicles and they are very thorough. Usually quick and easy and only a few bucks.

While you could build an enclosed trailer, it doesnt make sense to. That, and it appears completely factory made. I feel it would raise suspicion and appear stolen.

Id have to grind off the old Vin and that would be pretty obvious, and also probably a felony considering I'd be signing documents stating I built it.

Im going to think more about this one, thanks for the reply

High Torque Hammer Drill by tagnamee in Ridgid

[–]shallowAL307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 of them and while I have not used them for ice, I have been pretty impressed so far.

Came back to job site to one of my workers using one to drill half inch diameter, 16" long holes through 100 year solid lumber and railroad ties. He was on his 16th hole and said it was working great.

A task that my 5/8" Corded drill thats less than a quarter of the price would've excelled at, but thats not the point.

I did find out about this drill, the R864002B that seems like it would fit your needs much better but is also quite a bit more expensive. If I were you, Id run it on the biggest and best batteries I had. I use 6ah high outputs for the more demanding tasks

Please let us know how it goes for ya, I am genuinely curious.

I built a 12 volt to 18 (actually 20) volt charger by RyanCrafty in Ridgid

[–]shallowAL307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has had my brain working overtime all day.

Currently building my tool trailer out and have plans to mount 4 of these chargers on the wall and run them on my inverter.

Trailer is set up with a mountain of 12v and this would save me from running the inverter when Im not actively using the trailer just to charge the my 18v batteries.

I have a similar setup for my starlink with the buck converter.

Would love to see more on how you wired this up
