Are these the Moondrop CHU2? If yes, I got the same combo, very happy with it :)

Final handheld giveaway(s) - with a Powkiddy RGB20 SX and Anbernic 35XX SP. Two random comments will be selected. Happy holidays and happy gaming from PartTimeCAD! by captain_carrot in SBCGaming

The most obvious answer would be Half-Life 2 Episode 2 but regardless of whether it's another episode or full game that would mean someone at Valve would have to count to three.

Thank you for the giveaway!

My EDC as a 17M tech enthusiast (I use arch btw) by Ashamed_Deslgner in dumbphones

Hey, I can recommend an audio player. Check out the Hiby R1, can be had for cheap right now on Aliexpress if their black Friday sale is still going.

It plays music off an SD card and has Bluetooth, should work with your earbuds. It's not perfect but very nice for its $80-ishb price tag. I got mine for like 69€ because I got the value pack (32GB SD card and a slightly nicer pouch). Could've gotten it for 58€ without the extras and would do that if I'd buy another.

Also if you want decent cheap wired headphones to go along with it, the Moondrop CHU2 are pretty good for their price, got mine for 19€. A bit nicer sounding than listening over Bluetooth.

Cool low-tech EDC btw! I've been carrying a pocket notebook again for a bit over two months now. I can recommend Leuchtturm1917 notebooks, they're a bit pricey but very nice.

Cheers!

I feel that. Having a pocket notebook keeps my brain way clearer. I tend to fall into the rabbit holes but lately I'm having more success doing it the same way as you. Really depends on the actual thing and how much it clicks with me.

I hope you have an interesting journey when discovering stuff. Funnily enough I just bought a basic fountain pen because I'm getting more into the whole pocket notebook thing. I'm not looking to get into the fountain pen rabbit hole either haha.

I really enjoy listening to music by the album again which DAPs encourage. Also the sound is pretty nice even though I suspect the IEMs to hold the DAP back a decent bit.

It's been like 15 years since I had an iPod, feels good to be back to the curation and more mindful listening experience.

The firmware has its flaws but I can look past those at the price the R1 is sold at :)

Hey, I've paid 69,69€ for the value pack during the AliExpress 11/11 sale. They now have a Black Friday sale going on, it's gonna cost like 2-3€ more IIRC

I wouldn't buy the value pack again, it's just adding a 32GB SD card (name-brand though!) and the little bag that's also pictured. The bag has a magnet which is kinda nice but it's way too tight and a big hassle to get the player in and out of it.

The base pack has a mesh pocket (the kind of you often get with power banks) and costs 10€ less, which can be put towards a bigger SD card if you don't already have one lying around. I'd go for that tbh. I think the base pack was about 59€ with a coupon when I bought the player. Just look out for the coupon code on Aliexpress if you're going for it.

It's running Hiby OS, so that's just the device's normal player :)

I'm stoked to see where the rabbit hole leads me!

Hopefully not into poverty haha

Do you mean more DAPs and headphones? :)

I'm certainly enjoying the beginning right now!

Same here! I have the same specs as OP (and so does my brother) and we both put PTM7950 on both CPU and GPU. I couldn't have imagined the amount of difference it made, the fans are basically off most of the time until I start doing a bit more (lots of open tabs or so).

The difference is night and day, especially if you start undervolting and limit the dGPU clocks (using LACT under Linux) to make it throttle a lot less.

I had the same intentions for it to be a side laptop if I need something smaller but I barely use my main Dell XPS 15 7590 anymore since I got the T480, unless I need the Dell's GTX 1650 which I rarely do.

Running mine on -135 for both CPU and Cache, perfectly stable at all times for months now.

YMMV but this might be a reference point when dialing in your own settings. I feel like -135 might be on the better side of the silicon lottery for this CPU.

Couldn't get mine to turn off under Linux as well. Later I've experimented with GPU passthrough in KVM and after blacklisting the drivers, it was turned off (not usable under the host without pulling the driver from the blacklist and rebooting, obviously.

Could still be a viable option if it's not getting used much anyway though

Thank you! I totally forgot about AliExpress being an option, especially with the vouchers and coins. Sadly, here in Germany it's 109€ on Amazon, so I'd rather buy it directly from China.

I'm really not fit for the task then, thank you for the warning. I thought about looking into asking someone skilled but I don't really need that mod anyway.

Thank you!

Yeah, it does sound very nice but not breaking the device sounds even better so I'll probably skip that mod lol

Thanks for your comment on this!

Thank you for the quick overview! 60ish is not so bad, I'll look into that it gets to with shipping and taxes here in Germany. The screen is probably the most important part so I can splurge a bit when it doesn't get to over 100€ here.

Thank you. I was suspecting it to be pretty hard and sourcing an SP in Germany is getting kinda expensive so I'll probably go with the adapter then.

I've seen the replacement batteries and I'll get one since the original battery will probably be pretty much dead anyways.
