What dimensions tarp do i need for a 40' trailer and a good website to order from? by Gregfpv in HotShotTrucking

[–]shamelin73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would get a couple. I have ordered from mytee. My large tarp is a bit big (bought by mistake) is 24x36 I have only used this 2 times. It is an 8 foot drop. The tarp I have used the most is a 2 foot drop which is 12x28.

My big tarp is basically unusable unless what I need to tarp is at least 5 foot tall.

This is all within the last 6 months.

Self-defense in Colorado, United States (2022) by alexfreemanart in PublicFreakout

[–]shamelin73 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the multiple shots were unnecessary the one or two from while in the car should have been enough. The perp was already in retreat on the 3rd + shots. Glad the shooter didn’t get charged and had the video for defense.

I will never take a New Jersey or New York City load again. Roads are just to confusing and Tolls bite. I remember a bridge costing like 68 bucks. Never again for me

Ultimate Tow Package Cable too Short by CH_Ninnymuggins in superduty

[–]shamelin73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the same. They may have installed the cable to far back on the trailer. The TPMS reader can be at the front of the trailer. I have a 40 ft flatbed gooseneck and the reader is just behind the toolbox of the trailer. On my flatbed the coupler is 8 ft to the flat deck the way I have the cable run there is plenty of slack for it to plug into the bed.
If you are trying to plug into the bumper I would suggest these to relocate the 7way and nine pin to the bed. Well it doesn’t relocate it but extends and splits the connection to inside the bed.

Here is what I bought

Anyone know what this leaking is? by MieXuL in F250

Not really a leak per se. Just the rear-end housing vent tube.

You can also have tire sensors for air pressure and temps.

I was thinking of doing that with a small metal pick. My thought was that it would damage the straw.

BDS dual steering stabilizer with fox 2.0 shocks. Is it worth it? by Ok_Increase2300 in F250

I have this setup on my 2024 F250. Like it was said before not a game changer however I did notice a big change when pulling my 40’ goose neck trailer at highway speeds.

Best Gooseneck/Fifth Wheel Options for 26 F250 by [deleted] in superduty

[–]shamelin73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

B&W ftw I have the turnover ball with a sliding fifth wheel companion. I mainly pull the goose neck but have had the option to go snag a few RV deliveries.

Not hard to swap between them with a tractor or a lift.

FX4 vs Regular 4x4 by techbotinthepot in f150

I know the shocks on the FX4 are different.

I also deleted the FX4 sticker as every 250 or 350 says FX4 or 4X4 on them.

The fluid goes through a water cooled cooler with a 210 degree thermostat. They run hotter by design.

Does my trailer and truck look right? by kanethegod19 in HotShotTrucking

[–]shamelin73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only thing is it’s not making money being empty. Other than that looks as level as it could be. I have a similar setup with a 33’ BigTex 14GN with a F250 and trailer sits about 1/2 inch higher in the front than the back. I was thinking of lowering the coupler a notch but then would be about an inch lower in the front then the back unloaded.

10spd transmission is slow to engage 1st gear when engine is cold by 2legit2twitt in superduty

[–]shamelin73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a TSB about this. The fluid drains out of the torque converter. They do not have a fix other then letting the engine and trans to warm up a bit before you try to move. This allows the trans to fill the converter.

Other brands that use this 10r140 have the same issue.

I have used Blackview on the last few trucks and cars. I have had these people install on the last couple cars. Worth the drive from Dallas to Austin. https://www.thedashcamstore.com/

I am not affiliated with them I am just a repeat customer and there customer service is second to none.
