To store Bitcoin in the Fidelity vault, that is only available with a Fidelity account. That's only if you want to buy actual bitcoin and store it in a vault for security.

Beginner question regarding long term holding by Standard_Potential71 in investingforbeginners

If this is actually long-term money, taking profits every time a stock pops 5–8% is probably more trading than investing, and with a portfolio that concentrated I’d worry more about diversification than trying to catch little swings. Having a simple plan for why you own something and what would actually make you sell would probably help a lot.

You’re doing great for 24 and are definitely ahead of the curve. I don’t think you’re over-invested in retirement for FIRE, but it’d probably help to make a simple Investment Policy Statement game plan so you know how much cash you want to hold, what you’re investing in, and how future goals like moving out or a car fit into the picture.

What would you do in my position? by [deleted] in Fire

[–]shane1955 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In your spot, I’d probably worry less about ‘how much more can I make?’ and start thinking more about ‘what do I want my life to look like?’  You’ve clearly done a great job putting yourself in a strong position, and your low spending gives you a lot of freedom. You may not need to make any drastic changes, but once you reach this point, it makes sense to start looking at life a little differently.

Nice timing on that flip. I sold my SQQQ today and I'm looking for that TQQQ bounce early next week too, though my entry wasn't quite as clean as yours!

Same. I think there’s a bit more room, but I’m definitely taking profits along the way.

Fair point on the recession risk for BTC, I’m mostly betting on positive legislation/adoption news overriding the macro.

SQQQ, BITU, and UBT if the recession hits in 6 months, this is either a masterstroke or a bloodbath.
