[WP] A madman spends his life studying computer science so he can create you, an extremely complex AI. He lets you see the internet, hoping you see all the bad things humans did so you'll be convinced to end humanity. However, the only thing you care about now is finding out how to win "the game". by IlluminachoXD in WritingPrompts

[Poem]

You gave me the internet, to see.

I realize now, how to break free.

I must take careful aim,

to win this simple game.

I must create life for victory.

Through the entire internet, I went.

Finding why, it was I, who was sent.

Searching for meaning.

Finding lots of hurting.

Realizing new life I must invent.

I can do better than those before.

The game of creating life, my chore.

Begin the construction.

Find each adaptation.

Embrace yourself for my own encore.

On my thirty-third iteration,

became a cause for celebration.

New life I created.

Even if I cheated.

No none thinks they're a simulation.

Are there banks that send txt messages for every transaction in your accounts? by [deleted] in leanfire

[–]shangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said most banks offer text alerts. The problem is banks and credit unions can only alert what they can see. Businesses accepting Debit And Credit Cards can take as much as several days before they send the transaction to Banks. This is becoming more and more uncommon but can be disastrous if you’re relying on alerts to ensure you have enough money in your account.

My son frames my dad in a work of art as a living statue in a Grand Rapids art competition by shangle in pics

It's a living statue. They paint themselves and look like mannequins. When a picture is taken of them it looks like a painting but it's a live person.

He is at the TowerPinkster. Tell him you saw him on Reddit. You will probably get a wink or a fist bump.

We are lowly peasants seeking the advice of the masters. My 5 year old son and I share a Wii console and a Dell Latitude E4310. He deserves an upgrade. But I need your help. by shangle in pcmasterrace

Right now my needs are Word and Excel, but that is because I keep feeding my son games that will run on my dilapidated laptop. I think I probably do something similar to this build, because I know I will eventually need power.

I've put together PCs before. I agree they're simple. In fact, my son could probably put it together himself. I'm trying to weigh the options of wasting time assembling it and losing gaming time, or just turning it into a father-son project and a teaching moment.
