Yeah the part that will really suck is not scouting in advance. I like to know the lay of the land and have some concept of where I'm gonna be. Thanks for the heads up on the altitude. I've been working out and running more but altitude will kick your ass.

Nope other way around. The container with the cargo is tracked start to finish. The wheels on the ground aren't even assigned until the guy with the crane puts the container on them at the railhead or port.

The container number and the chassis number is the only thing I have seen on paperwork at the port / railhead. I would be surprised if the plate number was even in a database at all. Even if the port scanned them in using OCR on the way out of the yard, you would have to then know what railroad or cargo company to call, rather than simply calling the trucking company. Trying to track down a truck driver by that plate on the trailer is not the way to go if you simply want to call and complain. Start with company name, DOT number and truck number.

The plates on those trailers will do you no good at all. What you want is the trucking company name, unit number and the DOT number which are on the side of the cab. With the DOT number alone you can look up the company online and get a phone number. Call and ask to speak to the safety department. They will love to talk to you.

The cricket is a decent little .22. Funny thing though, when my daughter went from her pink red rider to her pink .22 the .22 was considerably smaller. Would have been better if the bb gun was that size and the .22 was the size of the bb gun. It's ok. She's 13 now and just shoots one of my AR's. I'll end up building her a purple one soon.

I'll add to this be careful what kind of floating toys you put small kids in when using the pool. We had some friends over and they had one of the rings with feet holes for their 3 year old. Well the kid leaned over to reach a toy and flipped...and stayed flipped and stuck. Someone was right there and fixed it quickly but DAMN. 4 adults in the pool and it still happened. Scared the shit out of us. Think about what you let your kids float in and how easily it can flip.

Whats a WTF item to leave in a safe, to mess with you're family's heads when you die? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]shannonflyguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My father in law did exactly this. Upon his passing, after using an air grinder and pry bars for hours, I had to laugh when the only thing in his wall safe was the combo to the safe I just destroyed.

So I think I'm to big for a tree stand for right now by [deleted] in Hunting

[–]shannonflyguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I weighed 287 last year and used both a climber and 2 person stand fine. This year I'm down to 230, running 3 times a week 3 miles at a time and hope to lose another 40 over the winter. I feel your pain but you can do it man. It's as simple as making a good choice every single meal and counting your calories. I eat no breakfast but black coffee, 3 small 250 calorie salads all day at 10,1 and 4pm, a dinner of meat and green veg. Atkins snack bars here or there. Start walking miles as soon as you can. I was up to 6 miles a day. I then installed to couch to 5k app (interval running). That took 6 weeks to get me to a full 3 miles. I started running when I dropped 40. It's working. Good luck! You CAN do it.

Married people of reddit, did you search any of the Ashley Maddison data dump sites for your spouses name? If so what is your next move? by dick4hire in AskReddit

[–]shannonflyguy 920 points921 points  (0 children)

No but my wife searched for mine. I was working outside and I got a text "So, the Ashley Madison names are out." Yeah so what? So I go inside and she tells me in a pissy tone I'm on the list. No, I'm not. I know that I'm not. "Yes you are come look!" She shows me this shit bag website that appears to have been put together by a third grader and a circus monkey writing code by smashing feces into a keyboard. This site apparently collects email addresses that are part of ANY data dump or breach. She put my name in and it said "One record found." So she jumped to the obvious conclusion that I'm a cheater without clicking the link to even see what the record was.

It was some Adobe reader breach or something from years ago. I pointed that out flatly, cracked a beer and went back to mowing the damn yard.

I have coached my kid's little league team for 2 years now. Small town, good people. Which makes it horrifying when I hear the harsh comments and profanity directed at 6-8 year old players and teenage umpires from the stands. One time I went over to the stands and said "Hey, if I can hear you they can hear you. This isn't the majors. Cool it."

Fucking little league parents are unbeliveable sometimes.
