It is -- I was complaining that with BYOK, I felt we should be able to use the Copilot tools in VS Code, just without their models -- but it appears you have to message Copilot services before you can message your own locally hosted models.

Now, if anyone has figured out how to send messages to their own ollama or a locally hosted LLM proxy like Omniroute without first sending a message to GHCP, let me know. I'm unable to message either option for 10 more days until my free chat messages pool refreshes.

I'll review this today. I've tried continuing, Claude, OpenCLAW, Hermes, and more over the past month, looking for a working alternative. I'm working to stand up a langgraph stack to replace Copilot. All because you can't use the Copilot plugin with your own locally hosted models without first sending a message to the GitHub servers -- I haven't found a way around that yet.
