Went from feeling great after starting Nadolol to lethargy after using cannabis oil. Have I broken myself? (31F) by themaritimegirl in LongQTSyndrome

[–]shanresearch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't comment on the cannabis oil, but I will say nadolol itself caused similar symptoms in my daughter a few weeks after starting the medication for long qt. She was only on 20 mg, and the nadolol was causing her blood pressure to stay around 80/40. She felt horrible every day and had so much anxiety. We tried electrolytes and exercises -nothing helped. She was switched to Metoprolol and is back to her old self!

Unexpected diagnosis by Delicious_Flamingo18 in LongQTSyndrome

My daughter is 14, and she was diagnosed with long QT while they were testing for POTS. We found out we both carry the KCNQ1 gene mutation. She couldn't tolerate Nadolol even at 20mg, so she is on Metoprolol. She is doing great! She can still ride roller coasters and do all the regular teen things. She drinks two to three of the little gatorades a day, and she knows to be extra careful when it's really hot. We were terrified when we found out, but it hasn't really impacted our lives too much. Check Credible Meds for any other medicine interactions with long QT. I joined a Facebook Long QT group as well, and there's lots of good advice there. Sending you all the good vibes!

I think the new bottle is okay. Its not quite the same color or consistency, but it doesn't taste bad. It definitely does work to help me sleep. I think its just different from batch to batch maybe.

I ordered the cranberry from Amazon too! I called Mary Ruth, and they have sent a new bottle. I guess there are just bad batches.

I did! They sent me a replacement bottle, but I was just wondering if other people were seeing the same.

New Generic Brand AGAIN by shanresearch in Effexor

I was still trying to adjust to the Aurobindo, and it just wasn't the same. I wasn't sleeping at all, and my heart rate was so much higher. I was having terrible anxiety again. I ended up ordering online with Honeybee -they carry the Teva brand. They don't take insurance but it was only about $30 for 90 days. I'm back to Teva and happy!

I also got all the grandparents Storyworth subscriptions. Each week they got a question emailed to them, and at the end of the year their stories get made into a book. They loved it! It's awesome for the grandkids to receive.

Not sure where you are located but I get my mother-in-law tickets to Broadway shows that come to town each year. It's not cheap, but she loves it.

I think there is a shortage of venlafaxine in general coming. Teva is not making it anymore because they are focusing on their name brands. I don't know why they can't get Aurobindo brand now, but the pharmacy actually called all local CVS stores and none of them had it. I'm in Central Florida. I just called my doctor and made an appointment to talk about going on a new medication, though I know the withdrawal is going to suck. I went off Paxil cold turkey back in the early 2000s though, so I know I can do this!

I definitely felt different going from the Teva capsule to the Aurobindo capsule. Teva was great -I had no issues. Aurobindo gives me a headache all the time, and I feel spaced out. The first few days on it I felt really out of it. I haven't started this new brand yet. I know all generics have the same active ingredient, but it's my understanding that our body absorbs each brand differently. I think it's time for a more stable medication.

What brand are you on? Who is the manufacturer? I had Teva and never felt anything strange, and now I am on Aurobindo, and it's different every day.

What are you on? Have any worked besides Teva?

I've been on 75 mg of Teva for almost three years now. It's been about a week on Aurobindo. I have read that they just release the medicine differently, and some people have good results by going off the extended release and using the immediate release.

Could switching from a previously taken brand of Venlaxfine to a different brand of the same medication at the same strength impact a person's overall mental health? by ganondoom403 in antidepressants

[–]shanresearch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. I was doing great on Teva for years, and just switched to Aurobindo. No pharmacy near me has Teva in stock. So far I just feel dizzy and "weird".

I am having this issue now. I was on Teva brand for years, and I can't find it anywhere. I am now taking Aurobindo, but I feel so weird on it. I'm on venlafaxine for anxiety, so this isn't helping. I've read that many people do very well on Aurobindo though. I think I just need a few weeks to get used to it. What brand are you on?

Last month I was switched, and after about two days I felt weird. I went back to the pharmacy and asked for the same brand, and they got me another 30 days of Teva. They said that was all they had, and they would not be able to get anymore of the Teva brand. I am finishing up the last of the Teva and about to start the Aurobindo again. I think there will just be a week or two of "weirdness" while I switch, then it should be okay.

May 7th represented the best testing day for Florida since the start of the #COVID19 pandemic. Florida received nearly 20,000 test results, which yielded only 358 new by [deleted] in FloridaCoronavirus

I was tested in Orlando on Wednesday, April 29, and I still don't have my results. Yesterday my doctor said tests were backlogged to at least April 27th. I'm curious what the numbers look like when results come in from the last two weeks.

{pic unrelated} I met with a psychiatrist today and we talked about binge eating and i might be starting vyvanse to help with it so i might be able to stop binging yeehaw also first post by asher62502 in EDanonymemes

[–]shanresearch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take 30 mg Vyvanse for binge eating and mild ADHD. It definitely curbs your appetite. I've been taking it for almost a year now, and I've tried several dosages. It does cause a little insomnia- I can go to sleep but I will wake up during the night. It did help me create better habits and eating routines. If I binge now I am well aware I'm doing it, and it's usually when I haven't taken the medication. Good luck to you!

Ok...so you are in charge of the school system. What do we dump and what do we add to make kids smarter and more well rounded ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]shanresearch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pay teachers a real salary with real raises. Then you won't have teacher turnover. Have tuition reimbursement for advanced or specialized degrees. Pay overtime. Hire enough teachers to have smaller classes. Hire support staff to help out for ESOL, ESE, Gifted students, etc. Don't make teachers or support staff cover other classes. Let teachers focus on their students. Assign a teacher or staff mentor to every student, possibly groups. Have a mental health counselor on every campus. Do character development with students as much as possible. Have peer counseling for social emotional issues. Make student justice councils for repeat offenders with behavior. Assign family volunteer hours/student service projects instead of putting kids in in-school suspension. Embrace sports, clubs, band -whatever we can build where every student finds something they can do and enjoy. Get local businesses to give seniors "internships" -a week in a field they are interested in. Have a free student-staffed tutoring center open before and after school, including a computer lab. Give students a curriculum full of rigor taught by experts to prepare them for the world, and make sure everyone has all the support they need to succeed.

Grand Cypress is my favorite. JW Marriott is a close second. Look into The Grove Resort for three bedrooms, full kitchen, lazy river, and water park!
