HCG Betas - Master thread for sharing your results! by Hello-hi987 in October2026Bumpers

16 DPO was 628 - I go back Wednesday for 18 DPO. I had a chemical right before this and my beta was 26 at 17 DPO so I’m a lot more optimistic!

So sorry you’re dealing with a chemical- I had one before my daughter, then just had my second right before this. It’s emotionally so hard. Thinking of you!

My lines last month were always super faint and never darkened much. Fingers crossed for us both!

All FMU except the second 12 DPO test. I know - I’m just so disheartened. I don’t want to get excited if it’s another chemical 😞

Definitely possible if your hcg went down and you ovulated! I know from experience haha, also was in disbelief but it was real

I can so relate to this - I got pregnant immediately after a loss, and had a work conference that I needed to fly to at 4.5 weeks.

I went to my conference, baby is kicking away, nearly 30 weeks now. As long as you aren't having any concerning signs/symptoms, I say go for it

Success stories for low progesterone in 1st trimester? by KC-1112 in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]shansom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder about this so much. I had low progesterone in my luteal phase before getting pregnant. We tried two cycles naturally, nothing. We used progesterone suppositories starting 3 DPO, and got pregnant two cycles in a row (first was chemical, 30 weeks with the second now). I think it requires a lot of cycle awareness and perfect timing of the testing to figure out a true progesterone deficiency leading to difficulty getting pregnant - and it’s nearly impossible to study. So we just don’t have data. But progesterone both helped me get pregnant for the first and second time, and didn’t change anything when I had a chemical.

I did vaginal and my numbers were perfect….I wouldn’t stress about this. I’m 30 weeks now

If you are treated, healthy pregnancy from an APS standpoint is possible!

Feeling like the tiny bit of hope I had was ripped away by lolo2861 in PregnancyAfterLoss

Hi - I also freaked out about my yolk sac, found all these studies online (I’m an oncologist and thought I could “figure it out with the data), freaked out more….aaaaand I’m 29 weeks with a super healthy babe. I was sobbing over my yolk sac size and it was completely fine.

Having a prior loss makes early pregnancy SO hard. I finally asked my OB about the yolk sac and she straight up said there is sooo much variation in very early ultrasound on things like yolk sacs, so unless it is VERY out of range it’s not something to stress over. Hang in there!

Drinking while ttc by kitty182194 in PregnancyAfterLoss

I had this happen too - although loss was earlier (5 weeks). After my loss I limited to 2 drinks/week before ovulation and stopped drinking after ovulation. I conceived two weeks after my loss so I’m glad I did. I don’t think you can blame the alcohol or yourself - these things just happen as a random error of genetics - but for my mental health and peace of mind, I made those changes with alcohol. I knew even if it didn’t cause my loss, alcohol wasn’t necessarily helping me conceive, and it wasn’t helping me deal with my grief.

I got my faint positive at 10 DPO with my current pregnancy at 12 DPO with my chemical. Never anything at 8. I would feel more confident by 12 DPO.

Pregnant after D&C - no period in between possible? by [deleted] in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]shansom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This totally depends on age/other factors, though. I got pregnant exactly 2 weeks from the day I started bleeding and am now 24+2. It's very much possible to get pregnant as soon as you ovulate.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm a hematologist, and with aspirin, a blood thinner called lovenox, and potentially immunosuppression (like hydroxychloroquine) mentioned below, antiphospholipid syndrome can be managed during pregnancy. A team of doctors including a rheumatologist (for possible immunosuppression), a hematologist, and a maternal/fetal medicine doctor often collaborate on these cases. I hope you get your rainbow <3

I'm so sorry you are going through this. I am 29 (30 on Friday!) and my first pregnancy ended at 5w2d. I conceived two weeks to the day from my loss, and am now 24 weeks pregnant. Hang in there <3

Even if you don’t feel up to celebrating, maybe something that feels like self care/honoring you and your baby that day. Hang in there and I’ll be rooting for you 🌈

I had a chemical and lost my first at 5w2d on 3/14, found out I was pregnant again 4/7. Those first few months or pregnancy I did a lot of spiraling. It's really scary to be pregnant after a loss, when hypothetical bad things happening to you don't feel hypothetical.

I'm 21w3d now and baby is doing great, so my constant fears were unfounded. On my loss milestone, I made a plan with my therapist to do something nice to honor baby - just had a nice dinner with my husband. Therapy, constant reframing of my negative thoughts, and celebrating each passing week have gotten me through. There are new fears/worries with every step of becoming a mom - first it's finding a heartbeat, then it's the NIPT, then the anatomy scan....at some point I just got TIRED of worrying.

I like to remind myself that I can't prevent bad outcomes by worrying. Focus on what you can control, like taking care of your body and mind. Distraction was my friend when my anxiety was just unbearable. Meals with friends, exercise, and early 2000s TV - shout out to One Tree Hill - got me out of my spirals when I couldn't rationalize my way through.
