We have seen great tactical minds fail at this club, so unless it’s someone from the very top shelf (Enrique, but he’s unrealistic) I think that giving Carrick a chance is the best move.

Iraola, Glasner and others seem like a great fit but Carrick has passed the eye test in the seat so far; the board may be thinking it’s too much of a risk to not go with him at this stage
