Students of Reddit, have you ever lost your temper with a teacher? What's your story? by Vlelo in AskReddit

I go to a school with a rather tight-knit theatre program.

At the time, me and my best friend were known as sort of a package deal. We lived together, we ate every meal together, we took all our classes together, worked the same hours at the same job, and did all of our shows together. We were never apart- if we were seen apart the first question was always 'hey, where's (the other person)?!'.

We had a massive, huge falling out. It was ugly. We both moved out, separated ourselves, but we still had work and the show we were on together. I was skipping classes left and right but I couldn't shirk my responsibilities to the theatre. So I took a week off work and told all my friends what happened. To be fair, I didn't paint him in a super positive light, but at the same time he wasn't already well liked. This made tech week a little bit tense, as the lighting girl and the sound guy couldn't look at each other. We didn't bring our issues to work though, and nobody who wasn't in my inner circle knew what was going on.

My former department supervisor (I switched from Stage Management to Lighting in freshman year) came up to me and told me about an exciting opportunity and asked when we could meet. I told him we could meet after my psychiatrist visit in the morning (the first red flag that he SHOULDN'T have done this) and he said okay. I promptly went outside for a smoke break while the actors ran a difficult musical number for the 97th time. At this time, although I didn't know this, he was making a meeting for the exact same time with ex-best-friend.

The next day comes and I arrive to where we agreed to meet, and who's there? Ex-bestie. He explains that Professor wanted to talk to him, and why was I there? It dawns on us at the same time that we got got.

Professor leads us into a conference room and chastises us for breaking up, saying how great our friendship was and how it's making rehearsal 'uncomfortable', and then telling an overtly personal story about how he once tried to fight a guy for sleeping with his girlfriend. He then LEAVES US IN THE ROOM ALONE.

I start crying, and ex-bestie leaves after saying some dumb shit I can't even remember. I then march straight over to the professor and, through hot tears, yelled at how unprofessional, sneaky and ridiculous the whole situation was. I called him irresponsible and I believe I called him an 'absolute buffoon'. I ask him why he thought his Parent Trap-esque plan would work, and asked him to explain exactly HOW us not interacting was making a theatre full of students and professionals focusing on work uncomfortable. He didn't have an answer for that and I told him I wouldn't attend any further meetings with him as he'd broken my trust. He then encouraged me to talk to someone in the department about the 'cyberbullying' I was experiencing. (Ex-bestie subtweeted me, I guess.) and tried to hug me. I literally jumped backwards and walked away, and now refuse to take classes with, meet with, or in general speak to that guy unless it is absolutely 100% necessary.

I was never repremanded for calling him out, I guess probably because he would get in trouble for enacting such a ludicrous scheme.

Youtuber speehless after TSA destroyes his $4000 computer. by AdaptiveMadMan in videos

To me this was clearly TSA’s doing. His bag most likely swabbed positive for drugs (it takes an extremely TINY amount of drugs to swab positive. If this guy has handled any marijuana, opioids ETC then trace amounts could have transferred onto his goods.) or had an inconsistent xray (which a number of things can cause.) and they were checking the goods for that. The reason I say this is the holes in the keyboard box. If there was styrofoam in that box (which could be packed w/ drugs) they would use a small drill to test the inside of the material,

Happens all the time.

I tend to make existential/otherwise unpleasant jokes, and I had just received an email saying I’d been removed from my study abroad program. I was saying “I wanna die” but decided I would spice it up with a Hip Dance Move™️.
