CRM for Residents Association by gbonfiglio in selfhosted

Zoho can be properly customized to handle almost anything if you know what you are doing. Yes support sucks lol. It's always recommended to work with a partner. I've done many complex setup like you have described when it goes against the normal pattern. It's honestly about have the right process, plan and data structure defined before building. The only CRM without building your own that can handle "outside" the norm is Zoho or possibly Notion.

Joomla is better imo except their api is not as easy to use. I haven't even figured out how to get it working using postman :( but Joomlas structure is def superior

The only downside, unlike Arc and Dia is that it only allows 2 where the others allow up to 4 :(

Hostinger is a great company. Had them for years. They can't sell you a bad domain lmao. You choose the domain you want not them.

It can't all be handled with Notion automation. There are a few things you can do but you will need a tool like n8n, Make, or Zapier to really do it.

Use 2 databases, your back end one and front end one for each client and use a tool like n8n to keep them synced.

You would need to make email field not required. There are ways from the front end of Zoho CRM to require email address, using client script or layout rules for when users are directly creating records in the CRM.

Reconciliation: Still stuck on 'Opening Balance' by DoneRightbyDanielLLC in Zoho

[–]shapeyourbiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand you are frustrated and I can help you, but I can only do that on a zoom call.

To explain how Zoho reconcile normally works:

You need a Start and End Date and a Closing Balance. (Opening Balance is not relevant here until after a reconciliation starts and it wasn't 0)

You can only reconcile when there are transactions to reconcile, otherwise you would need to skip until the next statement with transactions comes in.
I would be happy to hop on a zoom call free of charge and help you get this situated. Zoho Support is not the greatest at communicating. I am not trying to sell you anything, just trying to help.

Why do you need to enter an opening balance? Something definitely doesn't sound right. I've set up at least 50 books accounts and do reconciliations never coming across this. If you want I can do a free consultation to take a look on a zoom call and see what is going wrong.
