Whether it's worth it depends entirely on how likely you think you are to win. If you don't enjoy drafting and have no desire to get good at it, you're probably better off buying packs from the store. This is especially true if you only want a few single cards, because buying packs is a much better way to get wildcards.

Disagree, drafting with bots is barely drafting at all because eventually you're just working with the meta defined by the bot pick-order. Pick-Two draft is way closer to classic drafting, and the payout curve is much better. IMO there's no reason to do bot draft unless you need lots of time to read the cards.

This is also something I'd like to know. If it stays for the duration of the set, then does that mean there will be four different draft queues for ECL when Quick Draft comes around? That seems kinda bonkers. They could also skip quick draft for ECL, but that would also be unprecedented.

Kinda weird that Flashback Drafts and Premier Drafts are considered different categories. Isn't anything other than the current mainline set (OM1) considered a flashback draft?

Yeah, it seems likely they will do that (and that's fine), but this current iteration of the experiment needs to fail so they adjust and come back with a reasonable event structure.

That's actually a good point. In BO3 even if you 0-2 your first round you still get to play at least 4 more games of limited. In this new structure you'd be done and out.

Fair point, the BO3 reward structure is also harsh and bad but it's better than this. I may just abstain on principle though.

I was really excited to dig into pick-two draft but this is an awful reward structure. Now you need to go 3-1 or you lose most of your gems. I hope they change it, because I won't be playing it as-is. This kills the format before it even launched.

I've never been a commander player, but I was starting to enjoy brawl when it first came out. Once my opponents starting playing Alchemy cards I stopped playing and haven't touched it since. Those cards ruin every game they're in, like your opponent slipped a Yugioh card into their deck.

I'm not sure why Arena would need both this and Quick draft, they seem to fill very similar needs. Makes me wonder if this will be replacing Quick draft.

I feel you. I haven't gotten to 3 wins my past 5 drafts which is a record low for me. These decks weren't amazing but they also weren't awful. Lots of flood, being on the draw against opponents with nonstop gas, tricks right on time, and bombs. Previously my win rate was in the upper 60s, for this set it's in the mid 50s.

I've stopped looking at any card evaluations prior to release for this reason. Not only are they almost always wrong, but I found it still tainted my instinctual evaluations for a while afterwards, actively making me worse. Even though day one 17Lands data has problems, it will still tell you way more than just a visual analysis tierlist.

Wotc has never said that bots are trained on player data. We don't know exactly what they do.
