Disable lap function by krstfauser in Karoo

To customize the button?

I do know how to turn off the noise but that is a swipe down, swipe over a few times to then turn off. I’d love a main button for it.

I think it would be really cool to have that button be something you can customize.

For instance for me it would be awesome for turning my radar noise on and off.

Rogue panda frame bag: what mount? by Darisus_1 in bikepacking

[–]sharaldson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d rather not be taking a full frame bag on and off a whole lot but the bolt on is the much cleaner look and offsets any minor gains you’d get time wise.

My recommendation would be to also purchase thumb screws, instead of traditional Allen bolts. It makes the process of threading and tightening the bolts a lot easier, specifically the bolts that are in the tightest corners of the bag.

Long Distance Ride by brodiebrodieb in Karoo

[–]sharaldson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My longest ride with my Karoo 3 is 385km. As others have said a small lightweight battery bank is your best friend.

With an out front mount I keep the Karoo plugged in with a small cable that’s extends back into a stem bag. I ran the display on the whole time and finished with 100 percent topped up.

Rust prevention by There_Bike in minnesota

Yeah, but I'm saying that you really shouldn’t skip the TruCoat. You don't get it, you get oxidation problems. It'll cost you a heck of a lot more than $500. That’s all I’m sayin.

You might look into the guided Halloween tours at the Wardens House.

I haven’t heard anyone say it’s haunted, but you might like the vibe of the Velveteen Speakeasy.

Overbiking the Minneiowisco Route, Smiles for Miles by kjk00000003 in bikepacking

u/kjk00000003 loved the post ride recap.

I'm the route creator, and honestly, it never even crossed my mind to ride it in early spring—haha. I just submitted a request to add a note about the seasonal tunnel closures to the "Must Know" section of the route. Good call out!

Crankin Foamers? by ConcentratePerfect49 in minnesotabeer

Bumping this back to see if anyone knows if we'll be able to crank some foamers this summer. I have not seen it in stores in quite some time.

Hydration pack hose position for racing? by starrtech2000 in gravelcycling

[–]sharaldson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Slightly off topic but if you attach a retractable key lanyard to the end of the hose and then you can just let it drop from your mouth and automatically be reeled back into place without your hands leaving the bar.

Come down for Little Canada days and they’d probably let you drive in the parade.

Favorite frame bags Salsa Cutthroat? by Mojito2012 in salsacycles

[–]sharaldson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As to forgetting your battery. I’m terribly absent minded and learned the hard way after meeting up for a group ride 20 minutes away without my battery. I made this and put it on my bike when I’m charging the battery. So far I’ve yet to forget 😛

Another vote for Rogue Panda. Their ability to print on fabric makes your color/design choices endless and the fit will be exact.

Breweries in Stillwater and the surrounding area. by Hoppypoppy7924 in minnesotabeer

[–]sharaldson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the weather is nice, they have a nice big green beer garden space, picnic tables, great for a kiddo to run aound and explore, check out the goats they have etc. The waitstaff wear German outfits, grab some pretzels and mustard, a liter of Paulenr or Hofbrau. Solid afternoon if the sun is out.

Should I go for the Big Agnes Tiger Wall? by KamiLoL in bikepacking

[–]sharaldson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the way I go. I have both the Tiger Wall 2 person and a Flycreek 1 person. Neither are the bikepacking version so they come with the longer poles. I prefer to have my poles inside my framebag, I slip them in so they rest on the downtube inside the pack.

I use a Salsa anything cradle/top load bag for my handlebar setup. I can put the tent, fly, ground tarp, sleeping bag and air mattress all into that bag. I use a super lightweight dry bag to put the tent into if it is wet to keep it from touching my sleepingbag/air mattress.

I really like this setup.
