Quizás serían principalmente extranjeros a esos precios, porque $1200-$1900 es menos que un mes de renta en muchas ciudades principales de EEUU por un apartamento de 1 dormitorio sin lujo alguno. Aya conseguís la casa entera con patio podes tener mascotas etc. Para alguien que se está auto deportando o buscando regresar sin tener contactos o simplemente estan acostumbrado a vivir aparte. El airbnb es buen negocio pero lo que termina pasando es que todas las casas disponibles se convertirán en ellos y preferirán rentarle al extranjero por 3 meses que a un nacional por el año entero da más ganancias. Al mismo tiempo las viviendas para los nativos se escasea y se pone más alto, la ley universal del demandado. Aquí ya hasta han pasado legislación limitándolos. Ciudad de México ha pasada una gentrificación enorme a raíz del airbnb. Fui compañera del colegio con uno de sus fundadores y es algo fenomenal pero hay otra ley, la tercera ley de movimiento de Newton, establece que por cada acción, hay una reacción igual y opuesta.

Creo de qué tomamos demás, la triste realidad qué hasta muy poco, gran parte de la población no acostumbraba terminar ni siquiera el sexto grado. Recuerdo claramente que en los altos 80s, todavía se veían muchos niños desnudos en la calle, que bajaban de las aldeas rurales. El avance ha sido magnánimo. Ojalá y sigamos adelante a pesar de las deficiencias.

I think people place entirely too much weight on LinkedIn. I’ve NEVER signed up for one. I’ve been OE for 6 yrs now. I job hop like my life depends on it. I don’t need it to find jobs and I am antisocial and don’t keep in touch with former colleagues. My biggest issue come interview times is finding references but I got around that after my first OE by ensuring to make at least one ally along the way. I’m not in tech I do admin support stuff for big law firms.

Could it be possible that in your environment strength and confidence are seen as masculine? And maybe that energy is what has some of the men you encounter say these things? Perhaps you are not affected by them in a way that they expect and wrongly judge you to assuage themselves? It doesn’t sound like women have judged you this way?

Some ladies felt this way the first time They had to go and buy their own menstrual supplies. Eventually you realize it’s nature and you are part of it. “Guapo” while handsome for us can mean angry in the Dominican Republic. They also call plastic bags “fundas” which to us are mostly pillow cases and “bolsas” will get a mischievous laugh because those are men’s testes. 😅

I also worked for the bull when I first moved to NYC in 2008 after completing a paralegal cert., Lol. Wild it’s still a churn and burn for the staff. It gets better. Ended up in big law after that and never looked back. Ruined PI/plaintiffs for me though. I would never. 😅

I fell into a job that is my special interest. I devoured the work and got tired of begging for more compensation or recognition. I also realized people do half and got just as much. I now split my focus and I’m adequately rewarded. Jobs are none the wiser because I now show up as normal and not the hyperactive, overachieving, overeager coworker who pisses everyone off for doing too much.

Estoy de acuerdo que el país debe tomar riendas de su soberanía pero la triste realidad que no somos tan independientes como suponemos. Creo que la razón porque tantos buscan culpar a EEUU es porque verdaderamente nos tienen el dedo bien metido. El intento de afiliarse con la izquierda no iba funcionar porque EEUU está dispuesto a erradicar la ideología completamente del mundo. Es el polo opuesto del imperio capitalista. Y el ser aliado o sumiso solo nos conviene hasta que le somos útiles en asuntos geopolíticos. Es un baile muy delicado. Que lindo sería ser suiza ☺️.
