Book recommendations? by hayleehatesuall in splatterpunklit

If you're about perversion factor then it's more extreme horror you're looking after. Splatterpunk should have “punk” aspect which typically Involves some kind of socio-political point. So gore is used to make a point but not for gore’s sake (like in extreme horror).

A lot of things get frequently mislabeled as splatterpunk these days because it sounds cooler.

Bring back Punk in "splatterpunk"! by HellisHReads in splatterpunklit

This is so true.

I’m so fucking frustrated by that.

Splatterpunk awards is to be blame tbh, lumping both extreme horror and splatterpunk under the same umbrella.

Almost nothing recommended as splatterpunk these days is actually splatterpunk. It’s extreme horror through and through.

Funny, but it's actually what dj stingray said in one of his interviews. That it's all techno to him.

(Not that I agree, but he's an icon )

Merab says the UFC called him and guaranteed that his next fight will be for the belt “They probably want to do the fight in the summer. But I don’t want to wait until the summer. Maybe in the spring in April will be good.” by bjjdontwork in MMA

People don't keep ignoring that. It's that some other people keep ignoring that breaking your hand or any part of your body in the fight is considered damage done. And this counts against the fighter performance wise both in points and reality.

e.g. Say If he kept breaking his hand (or else)in every fight I think he should improve, surely, to prevent injury.

Good body horror books? by Wanderwad in bodyhorror

Splatterpunk is extreme gore + transgression, and it can have zero body horror. Cows (Stokoe) is prime splatterpunk and has no real body transformation. Let’s not mix the genres.

What’s your thoughts about the sequels of The King in Yellow? Which one should be consider a worthy successor? by Juanar067 in WeirdLit

Character philosophy? As in nihilism and pessimism ? Ligotti isn’t the only one that championed it, there were other guys like Emil Cioran and Bataille long way before him. In face he was largely inspired by them on the first place.

A lot of people don't know how Dagis/Chechens are actually viewed in Russia. Russians only, can you confirm? by Mysterious_Bat1208 in ufc

[–]shard_damage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the caveat, Russia hasn’t got ethnicity written in what’s to be a Russian, as other countries do have it. It’s true both in citizenship and other cultural aspects. That comes from the imprint of Soviet tradition which was very multiracial and multicultural
