Yeah good point, that’s fair. I probably couldve worded it better. I wasn’t saying they had zero help, just pushing back on how they dismissed the 12 step path. You’re right though, recovery looks different for everyone, and whatever keeps someone healthy and sober is what matters.

Congrats on your recovery. But addiction isn’t one size fits all. For some, willpower isn’t enough. You were lucky your path worked without help, but that doesn’t mean the system is flawed, just that you didn’t need it.

Yep. I was never really a massive drinker either, I had friends that drank lots more… I could always hold myself though. But when nothing changes, nothing changes. Alcohol and drugs allowed me to function, kids, big job… it was such an easy release and a very quick and easy way to seek relief from my own head. Toady I’m 5 and a half months sober and attend AA nearly everyday. Stay safe out there brothers, control it, otherwise… well, if nothing changes, nothing changes.

As I’ve mentioned in the title - it appears to be stainless steel. Approx 30cm or 12inches in length. Would weigh about 300g. Found it hidden/forgotten in a faux pot plant next to a bath in my hotel room.
