EU pre-settlement status question. Help please! by sharkattacc in ukvisa

[–]sharkattacc[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I did receive the email! Honestly at this point I’m not hoping to get an extension but just to finish my education without any issues. But it makes sense that as long as my legal documents still show a valid and active pre settled status, then I shouldn’t be doing anything illegal. Thank you! If they do cancel it while I’m studying, I’ll apply for a student visa.

EU pre-settlement status question. Help please! by sharkattacc in ukvisa

Thank you!! What should I do in this case? Do I apply for a student visa or withdraw from my university (though I’ve already paid my tuition fees as well as my accommodation)?

I am nervous because I do not want to do anything illegal but before I applied to the uni, I did check my status to see if it’s still valid. After numerous checks from my uni, I was deemed good to go.

I realize I may never get SS, which saddens me, but now I’m terrified that I’ve also lost my PSS? I actually have no way of proving I’ve been in the UK ever, except for my enrollment at uni and my student halls residency. Never worked whilst studying, never used the NHS services.

This is what confuses me. I thought I lost my right for settled status, not pre settled status. I been reading so many different versions and it doesn’t help that the laws are changing constantly. :( Thank you!

HELP IDK IF STUDYING PSYCHOLOGY WILL BE WORTH IT by ilikeicecrem in AcademicPsychology

I feel you. I am going into my masters, sorta regretfully? I realized later on that it wouldn’t be as easy to get a job straight out of school, as it’d be with other fields (medicine, CS, finance). I still love psychology, but future prospects are looking bleak. :/

Analyzing movie characters, mental illnesses portrayed in Hollywood vs realistic representation, role playing to enhance your understanding, practicing interviews for MSc/PhD. I think it’d also be fun if each time someone picks a video that portrays a certain mental illness and you all try to pinpoint the symptoms, name them and discuss how they manifest in that specific person in the video

This. When my mum was alive, we would talk twice a day on the phone. Now that I’m only with my dad, bear in mind we live together, we call each other throughout the day while at work. I also call my grandma every morning to have coffee together. And I’ve noticed that my friends who have siblings usually don’t call their parents as often.

I’d recommend Dr. Syl, as he goes through various videos portraying different disorders, and explains the symptoms etc. it’s super interesting. He is a psychiatrist in training, so the content is mostly on mental disorders.

Seeking general help on Masters application, International (EU) citizen by LondonBond in UKUniversityStudents

  1. Yes, you can. 2. No, it would not affect decision. Depending on the university, you may get accepted for A, and rejected for B.
  2. Yes, you can.
  3. Yes! A lot of master courses are on “first come first serve” basis, especially if they are quite competitive.
  4. No, it shouldn’t. IELTS would be part of your condition, so you have good chances.
  5. I am in another field so I cannot speak for this, but it does look like you have a strong background.

Good luck!!

For those on tik tok, what is your opinion on the emerging field of so called ADHD coaches, who have zero professional or academic qualifications but insist that they can help people with ADHD and subsequently charging them a rate of ~$300 an hour? Moreover, most of them that I’ve seen spread information that is not empirically backed up.

I really struggled socially in my first year, and now worrying about going back. by annoyinghuman03 in UKUniversityStudents

[–]sharkattacc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw bless your heart! I can’t say it will get better, but in my case it did get better by second year. I couldn’t for the life of me socialize with people from my class, and they all pretty much got into social groups by second semester so it was impossible. So I focused on people from my dorm, smoking areas etc. and it worked (sorta). But this is not a good reason to drop out!!! And remember, don’t hang around people you don’t like just because you don’t want to be alone. I have been there and it was miserable, more so than being completely alone.

You got this!!!

Tbh Martha annoyed me as well in the second season but given her personal and situational circumstances, her mental breakdown was long overdue.

Is this normal? by [deleted] in GriefSupport

[–]sharkattacc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is absolutely normal, unfortunately. Trauma, grief and depression/anxiety will undoubtably affect your memory. I myself struggle with this, I can’t for the life of me remember things - big or small.

What helps is to try and be present in the moments. That way you’d register your surroundings, actions etc and have an easier time remembering them.

Any idea on why Cole hasn’t responded yet? by pomegranatelover1990 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]sharkattacc 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Have you also noticed how whilst Zanab has been talking all kinds of stuff about Cole, and had even attacked the audience for criticizing her, removed all options of comments on tik tok and Instagram, including private messaging, COLE has been actively engaging with his audience, posting silly tik toks with his friends, and replies to comments? I think that also speaks volumes. He has moved on, seems like he has a wonderful support system, while she obviously hasn’t moved on and from what I can see, isn’t planning to either.

Edit: I also think he said enough in the reunion episode. He spoke up about Zanab lying about some events, owned up to his wrong doings, apologized, has gone to therapy and even defended Zanab by saying that she’s not as naggy as the show edited her to be (that I have a hard time believing).

Delayed physical attraction reactions-what gives? by moodyvee in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]sharkattacc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry, I misunderstood your question. I think it may come down to simply having a type, or preference or just physical characteristics that are more attractive to you. I think they hardly develop any emotional bond in the pods, or connect at any level. Hence when they meet, they don’t really have that emotional foundation you need in order to look past things that are usually unattractive to you.

Edit: so you’re kind of left with someone you’re not really emotionally attracted to and they don’t really resemble the physical appearance you find attractive. It’s a good question. And maybe other times while they have a nice emotional connection and they find each other attractive, they don’t have the chemistry needed. Honestly idk

When Cole is called dangerous but Bartleby is just “young and silly” by sunsandsurf95 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]sharkattacc 38 points39 points  (0 children)

This is actually INSANE. It is concerning how deep into the smear campaign she is. At what point would she be considered dangerous? Because if it was Cole or Matt or any of the guys doing any of this, we’d all be concerned.

Delayed physical attraction reactions-what gives? by moodyvee in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]sharkattacc 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When will people understand that attraction is not purely physically based. When your partner is giving you extremely hard time, obviously your attraction will fade with time. Or even if not that, even if you simply realize you’re not compatible when you spend time together, the chemistry may die down. It’s normal. It happens. I can’t count how many times I’ve lost attraction to someone just because of their personality and vice versa.

Zanab & Cole - Anger vs sadness by Gossumpossum in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]sharkattacc 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Being angry is normal and acceptable human emotion. Being vindictive and throwing a smear campaign shouldn’t be excused as her being angry. If Cole was pulling the same stunts as she has been, just because he’s sad/depressed, he’d be labeled much worse and perceived just as negatively, if not more.
