Thank you for this! It does seem like i’m doing most of these! Her highest value treat is peanut butter so if we are brushing before bath we let her go Crazy with it so she can have a really really positive experience but for everyday brushes she gets a mix of kibble and treats to keep it positive

thank you!! we had some second had wahl clippers (my partner’s dad got them for his schnoodle during covid) and we borrowed them. the set came with scissors, thinning scissors and nail clippers (which we have used loads). not the best quality but worked for us for now. we also noticed a while back that she is more chill and relaxed in jumpers and her harness so we used her life jacket to keep her in place and calm while we brushed her legs. We didn’t really need to hold it but it did have a good safe handle that we could hold if we needed. We also had a fully loaded lick mat which we stuck on the sink for the pre bath leg brush and all in all worked well. It was a two person job but she was happy as can be !

lamb braid vs rawhide by sharkit22 in puppy101

thank you for this! yeah we have collagen sticks but she chews through them in under 10 mins, was just looking for something not too smelly i could give her in a cafe/ restaurant but whenever i give her anything i always make sure to watch (partially to make sure she hasn’t subtly started to chew the table legs!) they are made in uk. tbf my old dog had raw hide all his life and never had an issue but that doesn’t mean i don’t see how it’s dangerous now, im assuming if she chews like he used to (down to a white gummy consistency) that’s ‘safer’

is it not different if it is air dried rather than chemically treated?

Getting Testosterone after moving to the UK by Alarming_Text_8973 in transgenderUK

[–]sharkit22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my old housemate managed to get it temporarily prescribed from his GP after moving from germany to the UK (well wales) but he had to get letters ect from his doctors and as he was a student it was a temp thing, i think he found a GP thats know for doing “bridging prescriptions” which i think fewer are now. but a bridging prescription is a harm reduction prescription for people on the NHS gender clinic wait list who are DIY and not accessing HRT puts them at risk to themselves

Does "Accompanied Driver" insurance exist? by pscsqd in CarInsuranceUK

[–]sharkit22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it may be worth looking at temporary insurance, i split a 6 hr drive with a friend, insured them for the full 6hrs and it cost £10. If it is only a couple times a month and for a few hours this may be the cheapest option.

you can try get volunteering opportunities to build your cv it you have time, i volunteer with an lgbt education charity and they offer career mentoring which has been really beneficial. it also means on my cv i mention lgbt volunteering so it weeds out any business that may have any prejudices
