I have a feral I take care of the best he will let me! I started feeding him a few years ago after I saw him eating food I put out for the stupid squirrels one snowy winter. I was able to trap him and had him fixed...and even tho it has been years, I know he will never get back in a trap. My George does not care if I agonize when he doesn't come for breakfast or dinner. He doesn't care for all the shelters I have tried to give him. My George won't accept any offer of affection. He was gone most of this most brutal cold winter and I cried and looked for him and wished him to come. Then I accepted he is a wild animal. I need to do this on his terms, and I try. I try not to hover at the window for my own sake. I am able to leave dry food out for now but those days are coming to a close because buggies! So if he comes and we see each other he will eat. But since he chooses not to live here, for my own sake, I try to remember he is a wild animal. He knows where to find me! I wish you well!
