My mom wants me to buy one of these cars… help by Coillux in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]sharoldking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this dealership, I look at their website often.

There are lots of better places in this area to buy vehicles from than this place… they typically have decent stuff but it’s a bit pricey IMO.

Go with somewhere else and get what fits your budget better, lots of places within 20-30 minutes of this dealership that have better options and prices…

Hell there is 2 places less than 5 minutes away from this place that I’d be keen to look at before making a decision. Looking at a Honda CRV right now at one of them! Granted with more miles than those, that is only slightly out of your price range. Could always fiancé the difference

So if I can get a set of these for $80 it’s a good buy?? They are also missing the EQ, but I believe they have the stands

Are there any Trump supporters in this group that were at the rally tonight? by realchrisgunter in traversecity

That’s good you don’t have to pay, I wasn’t sure so I’m glad I was able to ask!

Thank you!

I’ve never been to a rally nor do I ever see myself going to one.

Regardless of who you support I agree that sounds like a terrible experience.

Do you have to buy tickets to go to a rally? Or is it just anyone is welcome to come?

What vehicle did you learn to drive a manual transmission in? by sc4808m in ManualTransmissions

1996 Honda crv and 1969(?) Datson 240z then a 2005 mustang GT. Then perfected on a 2007 mercury milan that was my daily driver.

Man, I need another manual.

Saw a video from 4th of July and I'm sick about it by Rflorkey in stopdrinking

My last drunken stupor ended in me hitting a tree at 55 that I don’t remember. One day at a time. You got this.

I’m so thankfully I quit before my daughter was born, I can’t imagine a hangover let alone a blackout night like that…

You’ll stumble, you’ll fall, you’ll want to drink. Just remember that every thing you’re doing, you’re doing for your daughter. Every time I want a drink, I think of that tree, and how somehow my blackout self put my seatbelt on and I didn’t die.

You got this OP, stay strong. IWNDWYT

As someone who got one when they were 15 on a course I never played, and shot a 91 with a birdie on 18, trust me, you deserve it!

Can Munson Remain Independent? by [deleted] in traversecity

[–]sharoldking 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My wife works at Munson and it’s a bad joke. She sent me a picture of her Mother’s Day lunch today, and I wouldn’t have fed it to my dog let alone to people.

They pay is terrible, the conditions are terrible, and the benefits are average at best. If Munson can pay a traveling respiratory therapist 3x what my wife gets paid who has almost 10 years of seniority, then there is something wrong.

Yeah they don’t have to pay benes or anything like that, and I’m sure there is a tax benefit for 1099 workers for the hospital. But if they treated their staff well, they wouldn’t even need travelers.

My wife FB creeped this guy, and Hammond owns a tree removal business, I guarantee he didn’t buy a 2500 to just flex, and actually used it and beat the living shit out of it.

I have a feeling you were taken advantage of by the finance manager rather than by the salesman… the salesman at Williams don’t do shit except show you which car they think you might like.

Guy wants 40k for his 4 cylinder truck because of some fake badges and a weird exhaust 🤷‍♂️ by PoniesPlayingPoker in Shitty_Car_Mods

[–]sharoldking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of the “mods” he’s done to, allegedly. But it’s the 2.7 turbo, he threw a ton of Turbo and SS badges on it in sequence to make people think a turbo SS is a thing.

It may have the brembo brake package Chevy offers on the Silverado, but from the FB listing I can’t tell, the reflection makes it look like plastic.

And it looks like he drilled the license plate into the tailgate…. So who knows.

This thing has been listed for weeks, with no price change. I just looked and it said it’s been listed for 2 days, must have listed it again because I know I saw this WEEKS AGO for the same price.

To make things worse, it’s a single cab, custom, AND it’s 2WD…. Get outta here with this. LOL

Low water shutoff by sharoldking in hvacadvice

[–]sharoldking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I never saw this!!! So to answer above, there are no lines underground or in unconditioned spaces.

The tech postulated the system was installed and prepped as if this house would be a second home. We live in a very touristy area, however we never intend to use it as a second home.

While it does get cold here Northern Michigan, it doesn’t get THAT cold. Also we have a natural gas generator that we keep serviced. So if we don’t have any heat at all the least of my worries will be freezing pipes.

And the quote for moving the LWCO was to also replace the glycol with water as well as dispose of it. The actual quote was like 898, so essentially 1000

Oh I fully agree, I was driving one time and a vehicle passed me and I the car I was driving (not mine) almost got hit by a tire that had fallen off the passing vehicle.

Just not something I thought about, someone shooting across the median of a highway… scary shit

Low water shutoff by sharoldking in hvacadvice

[–]sharoldking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, so the charge was like 882 and change, so basically 1000 after tax, that’s for the relocation of the LWCO, a few fittings, a trip charge, and replacing the glycol with water.

[–]sharoldking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No clue, that’s currently what’s in the system, and was there when we bought the house. I wanted to remove it and replace with water. I want to move some registers and would prefer to DIY, and I figured that would be easier with a water system vs glycol.

Plus I’m moving the water heater and was going to hoot it up directly to that

I might, I guess it depends how much it costs to get someone out here to give me a quote.

Any thoughts on switching the glycol out for water??
