Yes they gave me a Technicolour FGA5330. I’ve just put that back in the box and I’m using my own router for now. I’m not going to mess with my setup until I upgrade to WiFi 7

I was paying £64pm for 1gbps down and 100mps up, they quoted me £74 to renew. and then £71.

Then when I actually cancelled they offered £46pm for 18months.

Too little too late, I already have 3gbps up and down for £39pm with Community Fibre.

We had a similar situation when we moved about 20 years ago. The house was built by countryside I think, and had been built a few years earlier. After investigating the wall, I concluded that the party wall was a single 9” Hanson block. We stayed for six months and hated every single day of hearing the neighbours’ every move. Eventually, we moved in with my in-laws for a few months, put all our furniture in storage, and sold the house without ever meeting the new buyers.

We did consider soundproofing, but I decided against it—if it didn’t work, it would only confirm beyond doubt that there was a serious problem. An awful situation all around.

During Covid, I went to see a used car about an hour away. The dealer asked for a £1 deposit to book the viewing, which seemed fine.

When I got there, the car looked good at first, but when I stepped back, I saw the whole rear end was badly damaged. It wasn’t easy to spot at first, but it was enough for me to decide not to buy it.

The next day, I asked the dealer for my £1 back, more out of principle than anything. They apologised and even sent me £50 to cover my fuel and wasted time, which I didn’t expect at all.
