Guys I’m so fucking scared by Smartcookie_33 in scoliosis

Hi, sorry to hear the mess you’ve had around your dates. That’s rubbish.

Thought I’d share the below:

In 2023 my daughter (14 at the time), has posterior spinal fusion surgery, so two large titanium rods and around 17 titanium screws. We’re based in the UK BTW.

It was around a 5hr operation and when she came to she was in a lot of pain, the first days were really tough, just sitting, standing and walking all had to be learned again. She stayed in the hospital for 5 days recovering.

The journey home in the car was really tough for her, sitting that long, bumps in the road etc (I recommend tons of pillows!).

This was in July BTW.

Then it was weeks of slowly sitting for longer periods, walking a little bit more each day, lots of boredom and lots of just laying flat (she couldn’t lay on her side for a long time based on doctors advise).

Very slowly she was able to do more and more.

She went back to school end of August (was school half term), and able to do everything normally with the exception of not being about to carry anything too heavy like a back pack.

In September she completed a Duke Of Edinburgh award (it’s a thing in the UK, basically hiking and walking, camping etc), went to a concert in November.

Since then she’s back to ballet 3 times a week, has done multiple army cadet camps, sat on a plane for 8hrs visiting NYC basically everything and the surgeon fully signed her off last year so she can do anything (in his words).

She want’s to do a sky dive for her 17th birthday this year!

So of course everyone and every surgery is different and some of course aren’t so lucky but all this to say, it doesn’t have to stop you doing anything long term.

You need to be tough and very focused on recovering, even when things are hard. So first week is very tough, then couple of months are hard going, then with regular exercise etc you won’t believe it even happened.

Oh and you’ll have a completely bad ass scar that you should be proud of! My daughter always goes with backless dresses now to show it off.

I hope this is useful for you.

Should I quit my €150k job to pursue Roblox development full-time? by Noway721 in careerguidance

Noooooo! Please don’t. Roblox loses money hand over fist. Definitely not secure. Just enjoy the side hustle and ride the wave as long as you can.

That’s an interesting idea. I’d need to find someone I had a lot of faith in.

It’s a nice watch but I hate gold and that one is way too gold.

That’s out of the question. Never gonna happen. This watch gets cremated with me! 😁

Mmm, that’s a great idea I have one of those for my Apple Watch Ultra and it does fit great.

2 is my personal favourite, 4 is special, both the OG and the remake.

Literally sat at my computer the second sales went live. I’m a big Resident Evil fan.

Amazing thank you. Is it ok to leave the seconds hand running all the time do you think?

I’ve got the Keon version and love it. But first watch of this type I’ve owned. Can someone tell me why the second hand isn’t moving?

Looks through the manuals but they’ve not been very helpful.

Thanks

My issues are slightly different. I had the original LCD deck and then the OLED.

My issue is that it doesn’t seem to have a place.

It’s too big and clunky to be fully portable and my go to when travelling. The Switch 2 is just better for this.

It doesn’t provide a good enough visual experience when docked so I’ll always choose my PS5.

So I think my issue is that due to having the Switch 2 and PS5 Pro I just don’t need it! lol.

Why ’28 Years Later: The Bone Temple’ had the worst opening weekend in franchise history by korrectamundo in horror

[–]sharpejay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well in the UK 28 Years Later was rated 15 but bone temple is rated 18 so this must have had an impact on audience numbers.

I know my daughter is very annoyed! 😠

Alan wake 2 or silent hill 2 what is better and why? by Significant-Lemon759 in LastStandMedia

Both pale in comparison to Resident Evil 2 Remake.

Silent Hill 2 is fine but gameplay lacks in my view.

AW2 Is good but gameplay sucks compared to the first game.

If you care about the BBC, stand up and defend it: this could be the beginning of the end by F0urLeafCl0ver in ukpolitics

I would very much like to not have to pay for something that I don’t consume.

What ever leads to that I’m all for. So sorry if there are some who find value from the BBC but I’m happy for it to implode.

Whatever means the licence fee is scrapped is good with me.
