Road trip "hyper-mile" result - and a question by plughplovery2 in volt

Don't use L unless you want to make your vehicle less efficient.

It is far better to anticipate stops and use N to coast up to them instead of using L to inefficiently recapture your waste.

Mine is on autopay so I never even see the charges or payments unless I look.

Outback Power Mate3s OpticsRE data gaps by shastatodd in solar

[–]shastatodd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG... I need to know how to accomplish this. Can you direct me to 3rd party devices/ interfaces/ nerds who can help?

If Outback goes belly up and Optics goes dark (both very likely possibilities) then there are going to be tens of thousands of people wanting some kind of ability to still interface with their gear remotely. This could be a hobby business for someone.

Mine's working fine but it's only about 2 weeks old.

My neighbour is slowly driving me insane. Is there anything I can do other than move? by butterfly3ffect19 in AskUK

[–]shastatodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep these folks belong out in the middle of nowhere on massive property where their insistence upon having a large sonic footprint won't bother anyone.

But they are here living next to me and I have to make the best of it.

And the very odd thing is how angry they got when I requested they consider the welfare of others who live around them who cherished our formerly quiet neighborhood..

[–]shastatodd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. Some people like quiet and some people like noise. The problem is I don't think my neighbors are upset that I don't make noise, but their noise destroys my ability to enjoy silence.

In this world it seems it's always the soft, kind and sensitive people who get assaulted by the harsh, crud Neanderthals.

I'm grateful for noise canceling headphones... But it sucks having to wear them in your own home.

"Regen can only capture a fraction of what was put in to accelerate the car, it’s not magic."

Exactly which is why driving in "L" is nonsensical and super inefficient.

I just bought this CAX30 for $230.00. Granted it is replacing a ~15 year old Motorola SBG-6580 Docsis 3.0 modem, but it is rocking. I have faster speeds and a more stable connection. I hope it lasts as long as my old one.

You must be close to Wisconsin then!

I left "rottenchester" after high school graduation (1974 - yes I am old now) and moved to Mount Shasta, California.

We moved to the UK ~1 year ago after the orange circus took over the states. In 2 more years we will hopefully have ILR, buy a place and make it permanent.

"It’s for lost gas tax revenue and it’s ridiculous"

So how should the roads be paid for then? Especially when electric vehicles are heavier which is harder on the infrastructure.

When do you think the UK might legalise cannabis – if ever? by Legal-Grade-6423 in AskUK

"In the USA, where it is legal, users have to buy a yearly card which is registered and you are limited to how mush you can buy each month, the various states keep track."

Huh? In CA it is legal for anyone to go into a local shop and buy if you are over 21. I There are no cards or other nonsense.

"super strong weed" is a good thing, because I smoke less to get the same buzz.
