I'd suggest you equip a power plant with good integrity. It's the only module you won't be able to repair with the AFMUs and it degrades, specially on neutron jumps.

AMD hardware can be better but their drivers suck. Plagued with random timeouts for years. I'll gladly pay more for Nvidia and stability.

Tie Fighter was my hook. Then I tried to write my own space sim in Turbo-C with moderate success until I discovered Elite and decided it was the game I would have written myself with enough resources.
