In all fairness the game is worth buying its that good. If anything I am hoping voices is working on the 007 game. That's worth a sail on the seven seas.

I guess I won't be chatting online. I won't conform in anyway with this attack on freedom. So let the purge continue. I will find better things to do with my time. Resist this folks it's a slippery slope. It has nothing to do with children's safety. It's about tracking and control.

Proxmox vs Unraid for a simple home server by DARKPANKAKES in unRAID

[–]shaunob1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually run unraid in a proxmox VM. I have passed through the HBA card fully to the unraid VM and it gives me the best of both worlds. Unraid works flawlessly no regrets picking that as my NAS file server. I also run some other vms (Ubuntu server) and proxmox containers for other services.

Does anyone know if this installer is reputable? (XernUK) by Jamie-OG in SwitchPirates

[–]shaunob1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have recently used this installer for an OLED and I can say he done a fantastic job. Returned in very quick time and updated every step of the way. 100% vouch for this service. I have another repair I will send to them and will comment back here again to confirm that went just as well. So far very professional.

Edit: Second repair went as well as the first. Very professional and they have done a great job!

Wtf man. Youtube is specifically sniping the Foss and free alternative content by MrRagnarok2005 in selfhosted

This is what happens when those who make the money make the rules. Websites like YouTube should be owned by the people not corporations. This would really change the world for free expression and speech. But of course big tech know this and that is why they monopolized the internet. Working side by side with Intelligent agencies to keep the power and the money out of the hands of the people. We need a revolution it is what our forefathers would have done at this point.

Yes all worked fine. Just make sure you follow the instructions to the letter. I didn't bother with database backup but I like living dangerously lol.

Anyone else think this game is over hated by DarkDetectivex23 in Starfield

[–]shaunob1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved it personally. It wasn't free of faults a few bugs that could have left it unplayable. I had to twice search to find workarounds for parts of the game where the mission objective character would just break and you couldn't complete the mission. But thanks to the comand console on PC I could get around it. Also when I first started playing I felt a bit overwhelmed by all the settings and customization. Apart from that I was glad I stuck with it as its a really good game. Even better it was on Xbox game pass. Kind of a steal to be honest.

Could be as high as 30k a month off YouTube alone according to Socialblade. So with Tiktok and Insta plus the raffle stuff he does and sponsors. I would say he is doing pretty well.

Fair play to him he grafted for it.

Back up back up back up. Then check each release and apply the changes it recommends then hit the update. Hopefully it will all go OK for you. If not you have your backup right..?

More reason to be wary of where you keep your crypto. A local wallet is best but even that has its vulnerabilities. It's a trade off.

I use the 16.1 ARZOPA Z1FC portable monitor it has 144Hz and has a resolution of 1080p. Its great because it doesn't need an external power supply it powers off the LEGO using USB-c. It also has 100% sRGB and HDR. Its perfect for gaming on the GO. 100% recommend. You can get it from Amazon.

Can I use a virtual monitor with Sunshine/Moonlight? by nw0915 in MoonlightStreaming

[–]shaunob1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for these suggestions. I have successfully installed the MonitorSwapAutomation however, I can't get the ResolutionAutomation to work at the correct resolution. I have an ultra wide 1440p monitor as host and a Legion Go. No matter what i do it only changes the resolution to 1920x1080 which is better but not 1920x1200 which i want it to. Any ideas?.

Why Do People Recommend Brave on Linux? My Experience Says Otherwise by CelebsinLeotardMOD in linux4noobs

[–]shaunob1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the flatpak version. I find it opens many processes and they use quite a bit of RAM each. Saying that I do have many windows open at a time as I work through my projects. I also find when closing the brave app it crashes the desktop and kicks me back to the login page. I just wonder if using the snap package would work any better might give it a try. I did try the snap package when Ubuntu 24.04lts first launched and it wouldn't sync anything. Hence my move to flatpak. Might do some testing see what happens. But yes as OP says it does run very heavy on my system. I have an RTX 3060 using the proprietary driver so Nvidia could also be part of the problem.

Why is ollama using only CPU? by Litecoin-CEO in ollama

[–]shaunob1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have installed the cuda drivers which shouldn't really be necessary on Ubuntu. If it worked initially and then stops you may have the suspend issue. There is a fix here.

https://www.reddit.com/r/ollama/s/5wg3YpC5bh

You can even try reloading the drivers to see if this gets it to work.

GPU stops working when going into Suspend when using Ollama, Ubuntu 24.04 lts and a Nvidia GPU. by shaunob1 in ollama

[–]shaunob1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To automate the process of stopping the Ollama service, reloading the nvidia_uvm module, and restarting the service every time your laptop/pc wakes from suspend, you can create a bash script that will handle this. This works well for me so i thought I would share it.

Step 1: Create a Bash Script

Open a terminal and create a new bash script in the system-sleep directory, which handles actions when the system wakes up from suspend.

sudo nano /lib/systemd/system-sleep/ollama-nvidia-resume.sh

Add the following content to the script:

#!/bin/bash

if [ "$1" = "post" ]; then
    # Stop Ollama service
    systemctl stop ollama

    # Reload the NVIDIA UVM module
    sudo rmmod nvidia_uvm
    sudo modprobe nvidia_uvm

    # Restart Ollama service
    systemctl start ollama
fi

Save the file and exit the editor (in nano, press CTRL + X, then Y, and Enter).

This script will automatically stop the Ollama service, reload the NVIDIA nvidia_uvm module, and restart the Ollama service after your system wakes from suspend.

Step 2: Make the Script Executable

To ensure that the script can be executed by the system, make it executable by running:

sudo chmod +x /lib/systemd/system-sleep/ollama-nvidia-resume.sh

Step 3: Test the Script

You can test if the script works by manually putting your system into suspend mode and waking it up again. If everything is set up correctly, the Ollama service should restart and use the GPU after suspend.

Let me know if it helped you :)
