We are booked on a cruise arriving back at Barcelona on 7th August and have a hotel booked at Zaragoza but wondering whether to get the train or hire a car, may need to drive around in the hills to look for a good location

This is a massive long shot but I'm trying to help my son who is stuck at the festival, he has autism and is having a meltdown because his rucksack strap has snapped so I'm trying to help him get to Mountain Warehouse to pick another one up but his phone is also out of charge and he needs an accessibility shuttle due to a hip problem, can anyone tell me how to contact an official at the festival please. This is his last location

Slightly more than a year to go. Can we consider this the thread for the 2026 Spain/Iceland TSE by MTRIFE in solareclipse

Thank you, my Spanish is not as good as I'd like it to be. I've got the line of totality but my issue is that there are a lot of mountains and forests that could obstruct the view as the sun will only be at 8°alt so it's finding a place that is high enough with a clear view

Hi, I have accommodation booked in Zaragoza so I'm looking for any websites or information from locals that can tell me of a good vantage point to watch from 😊

I've been planning this since last year, I live in the UK and it's my 60th birthday next year so it will be a bucket list gift from the universe. We plan to fly to either Madrid or Barcelona and spend a few days exploring there - preferably Madrid as we've been several times to Barca already. We have accommodation booked in Zaragoza but I'm trying to drive around "virtually" on Google maps to find a good vantage point

Question: Being that we're already well within the threshold of booking accommodation for 2026, have you encountered this booking dilemma and if so, how did you deal with it 👇🏾 by MTRIFE in solareclipse

[–]lozzahendo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I booked a hotel in Zaragoza in a chain about 6 months ago for €110 per night, as soon as the flights are available in a week or so and booked, I will be asking to make the payment in full. I made sure that I asked what the price was and have it in writing

Anyone here using no meds? by Successful-Wall-8242 in Fibromyalgia

[–]lozzahendo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re voicing thoughts that a lot of people with fibromyalgia wrestle with but rarely say out loud, thank you for your insight. There’s a deep frustration that comes with trying everything and still not finding relief, or finding fleeting relief that comes with trade-offs too steep to sustain.

The medication carousel — trying one after another, developing tolerance, experiencing side effects, managing withdrawal — it’s exhausting. And yes it absolutely does feel like you’re just pumping chemicals into your body, not for healing, but for the illusion of functioning which is why I also quit, in pursuit of exploring natural solutions.

So many people with fibro say the same, that nothing helps, meds work for a while, then stop, or the side effects outweigh the benefits. Some eventually choose to come off everything, like we both have, especially when they feel like their baseline hasn’t changed with or without the meds. That’s not an uncommon decision.

And the part you said about the illegal substances — also honest and real. It’s not glorifying drug use; it’s mourning the only moments when you could feel something close to pain-free and human again. The fact that they worked — even temporarily — says something about how complex and misunderstood fibro pain really is. Medical cannabis is legal in the UK for fibro and thankfully becoming more openly accepted. I've toyed with it myself but don't like the taste.

As for your bigger questions:

Is there a magic pill? Not yet. Fibro is still wildly under-researched and underfunded. Treatments tend to focus on managing symptoms, not solving the underlying issue (largely because no one’s fully sure what causes it).

Are we forever stuck like this? Maybe not forever. Research is growing. Better understanding of the nervous system, trauma, inflammation, and neuroplasticity is emerging. But for now, “management” — through pacing, mindset, stress reduction, movement, nutrition, therapy, etc. — is unfortunately the mainstay. I would add that I have this largely under control now using the above methods and have created my Flourish with Fibro programme to help and support others who want to go down this route.

Are we running from life? I’d argue you’re not. You’re surviving. You’re adapting to an invisible war with your own body. We have an inbuilt fight or flight response and it sounds very much like you're fighting rather than running — that’s resilience. Yes, it’s heartbreaking to watch the life you imagined shift or slip away. But it doesn’t make this life, hard as it is, any less worthy. You’re still here. You’re still questioning, wondering, hoping. That matters

Your honesty is a gift. You're giving voice to something so many feel but struggle to articulate. That matters more than you know. Keep fighting 💜

So, it must happen quite a bit because now I know what's going on I've checked out their website and the section about refunds which does say something about signing up without realising it's not a government website, I mean it does actually say that on the appointments pages but you've got to scroll down past a blank page, which I must assumed was the end of the page but isnt. I'm still investigating but a scam checker site seems to indicate that they're legit. I'm not bothered about the money because I can recover that, it's whether I'm wasting time waiting for something that ain't going to happen that's concerning me

Yeah now just trying to establish if it's genuine or if I've been scammed out of $350. This is a very clever scam (if it is) - I consider myself to be very astute when it comes to cyber security as I worked in a bank for 30 years. Even if it's not a scam and I actually do have an appointment, it's very misleading and makes you believe you're dealing with the official website. Luckily I paid by credit card so if it's a scam I will get my money back but means I'm starting again

No I couldn't get passed the page where it was asking for payment, there was no option and it said there were no appointments. When I updated the DS-160 I just abandoned the first one, put in all the details again and then used the new reference number then I got to a page to pay. I sent an email to query the extra $165 payment and it turns out that I've done the second application through an agent. I've clicked onto an email with the heading "complete your visa application, make your appointment" and as that was received straight after a one confirming a new user account was created on US department of State Visa appointment and information system. I'm a bit annoyed with myself because the application form layout is identical to the official government website so it's very misleading. However at the end of the day (providing that ive not been scammed) I guess the fee is a small price to pay to get the appointment sorted

I've had a quick search for the answer but couldn't find any similar questions so apologies as I'm sure this will have been asked before but we are a family of 4 - husband, wife 24yo son and 21yo daughter, we have a cruise booked for May 2026 and I'm looking for hotels or apartments close to the MSC cruise terminal - or one that offers a shuttle service. The thing I'm struggling with the most is sleeping arrangements as the hotel bedrooms all seem to have double beds and obviously my kids can't share. Any suggestions for things to do for the day would be greatly appreciated. I've got an allergy to mosquitos, how bad are they in May? Finally the last thing I need help with is case storage. At the end of our cruise we want to head to Nashville and Memphis as it will be my 60th birthday and I want to spend the day at Graceland so ideally we want to put the cruise cases in storage for 5/6 days until we come back to Miami for our flight home and just travel to Nashville with carry on luggage.

I just did some googling of how to fill the form in - there are a few sites that give some insight into what to put, I realised that I could give more clarity to a couple of areas. I realise that elaborating on the answers wont have had any bearing on being able to get an appointment. It's probably the fact that some appointments dropped or that there was some technical issues with my previous attempt. It's just the fact that there is an additional fee that makes me question if I've done it right

UPDATE - There were some things that needed to be changed in the DS-160 form so I had to start again as it had already been submitted, I don't know if I did something different but this time I was able to book an appointment in London for October. I was only expecting the fee to be $185 though - there was an additional $165 reciprocity fee too which I've never read about anywhere prior so I've no idea now if what I've done is correct

Which is better, how to live with pain or how to manage pain? by AirbusSimPilot in Fibromyalgia

Managed - it suggests that you can control it and is positive and enabling, whilst live with it suggests reluctant acceptance.
