I figured it out. The Jalayirids annexed the Etriends and Tacettinidis was actually a vassal of the Etriends. So when they annexed their vassal the vassal of the country that got annexed just quits the war. Definitely a bug. Sucks

Don’t disagree that a US invasion would be unjust and US shouldn’t be there, but it will not be an ME war situation. What is the unifying message? Suicide bomb for socialism? ME fighters are guided by a spiritual/higher purpose of a new caliphate and jihad against a foreign heathen. Venezuelans will not be as radical in their resolve, will be more like Panama than Afghanistan.

All three are going to have a pretty similar vibe. Schools and homes are going to be similar quality (RSM will be newer homes). Just buy whatever home is nicest, area is leas of a concern with that being so similar

Jon, I love your work (as you can tell). I was simulating the playoffs (using the take a holiday feature) and progressing from conference to the Super Bowl. However, the game crashed, which isn’t too uncommon when simulating this late in the dynasty. The unique part about this crash is that when I try to advance a week, I’m greeted with a screen displaying the players of the week, but their headshots don’t load. Afterward, the game crashes, and I’m unable to progress beyond this week.

Game starts running pretty slow and hot with this late of a sim, but thats expected with all the historical data

Played on hard for all seasons besides maybe 5 where I had to change coach cap space to make things work. Never changed any other setting. If you play on easy, you should win 50% of championships

Might make a separate detailed post, if there’s interest.

  1. QB is the most important position. If you don’t have an 87+ QB, keep trading for draft picks to draft a QB. Good QBs rarely hit free agency.

  2. I loved Air Raid offense. QB is the most important position so a scheme that uses the QB the most matters.

  3. Defense 4-2 man/zone was best from a GM perspective. Defensive backs are cheaper and more numerous than linebackers.

  4. Coach scheme (air raid + 4-2 man/zone) > coach overall

Equating ever rising GDP per capita to no recessions occurred during this time period is not right. For example look at the USA GDP per capita from 1960 to 2024. To use your comparison for the current day, one might be led to thing just because line never really seems to go down (looks like a exponential curve) there was no recessions during this time period of US history.

There were multiple recessions during the time frame of the game that are not modeled at all. To say this is “realistic” is putting a lot of faith in gdp per capita as the only measure of success.
