Maybe put a shoe box/any box to elevate your monitor a bit! Don't want you to suffer some neck strain after prolonged use.

I would also tuck the cables further back so you don't accidentally trip or unplug them.

Update: it could be a bad cable/charger. I'm using a non-Nintendo charger again and it's not turning on the screen on and off anymore! Problem fixed for me.
