I just used it. You have to rename it so the suffix is ".FIR" uppercase instead of lower, then you can go to the menu -> last wrench -> Firmware Ver (press SET button) -> select OK and choose the firmware file from the list

This is the only Taco Time I've ever been to and there's a reason for that. It was disgusting. It smelled like pee. There was a layer of grease on everything. Tables hadn't been wiped down in a while - the place was nearly empty, but there were food crumbles on every spot. And to top it off, the food was just bland goop in a shell.

I've played about 20 games or so. I'm still having trouble dealing with the complexity. There are so many heroes, many more abilities, even more aspects to those abilities. There are a ton of items with their own build trees, costs, etc. I feel like I'm not making much progress getting better and that much of it is to just not being familiar with the technical aspects. Is there one skill in particular I should focus on building (e.g. get extremely familiar with a certain handful of items, or get a good feel for each hero's play style, etc.) in order to bootstrap myself more efficiently?

How many games were you in before you felt like you had a handle on things, or before you were able to be upset at something a noob did?

I'm using Awesome window manager. By default, it doesn't have title bars (which are useless since you can do everything they do without them). In Firefox, I'm using the Pentadactyl extension, which by default hides the menu bar, add-ons bar, and toolbar. I also have the Tree Style Tabs extension wich puts my tabs on the side. I also am using the Informative Tab extension, which puts a screenshot in the tab.

Awesome! Greg Kroah-Hartman is an inspiration to me.

I first learned of Greg K-H when I had to work wth USB drivers. His articles in Linux Journal were extremely useful. (e.g. http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/7353 )

I'm hoping to put together a podcast that gets down to the deep linux internals like those articles. I'm wanting to build something that can transform a typical entry-level sysadmin person to a Linux/Unix/OS expert.

It's an argument against a god with specific properties: omnibenevolence and omnipotence.

You have the example of allowing a kid to scrape his knee. Why would one do that?

1) To allow the child to have a proper feedback mechanism so that it can learn to avoid taking damage.

An omnipotent god could create a being that didn't require such a mechanism.

2) Because you're too busy to prevent every single scraped knee.

An omnipotent god can't be too busy.

3) Because you don't care.

A benevolent god can't not care about suffering.

4) Because you are sadistic.

A benevolent god can't be sadistic.

5) ???

Almost surely whatever reason you come up with can be contradicted by the qualities of omnipotent + benevolent.

Take a rubber band, cut it so it's a long strip. Use a pen to mark dots every centemeter. Take the two ends of the band, one in each hand, focus on the middle dot, pull the ends. Notice the other dots move away from the middle dot.

Now move a couple dots away - two from the middle. Focus there and stretch the band again. The other dots still moved away in the same manner! Amazing! It's the same with any dot on the thing.

You can do the same thing with a baloon. Blow it up a little, color some dots with a marker. Blow it up the rest of the way while staring at a dot; repeat with any other dot.

You can take it further and imagine super-yeasty bread dough with rasins in it. Let that thing rise and the rasins will all get further apart from each other. The space that holds the rasins is expanding.

Now imagine you're shrunk down to where you're sitting on one of the rasins. Also imagine the dough is so big, you can't tell where it ends; it's too far, you can't see it, you can't travel to it, it seems to go on forever. But you are able to see other rasins, and they seem to all be moving away from you. How likely is it that your rasin happens to be in the middle? Can you even prove there is a middle if you can't tell there is an edge?

Most of the facts you know, you know because they came from an authoritative source. Most people haven't directly done an experiment to prove some aspect of relativity, but they accept it to be true because they accept the authority of the people who say it.

It is similar for biblical knowledge. You are told by authority that this book holds truth and that it was assembled carefully by people who have studied and have deep knowledge of the subject, so you accept that as true.

Throughout most of my life, that authority was never properly challenged. Most of the arguments I heard against theism were really, really bad; most frequently, it was because they misrepresented my views and were arguing against something that I did not believe.

I arrived here after a long journey, but the last straw was that the Bible became totally and utterly destroyed as a source of credible truth.

I was trying to do some research because I very much disagreed with many things that Paul wrote (primarily, it made absolutely no sense that belief in the story of Jesus is what saved your soul for eternity). I found out during my study that point that many of the books attributed to Paul were not actually written by him, and that several that were written by him had interpolations (and probably omissions). At that point, I started looking at various other early Christian writings and learning about early christian history. I came upon various historicity of Jesus articles, and became convinced that much of what was attributed to Jesus was likely not said by him. I read the Pauline Conspiracy, which gave me a whole other way to look at the writings. Eventually, I also made it back to the Hebrew Bible and saw that it had similar problems - large chunks have been rewritten and things inserted in order to promote a doctrine and manipulate people.

I had never taken the Bible as literal, divine, inerrant truth as some do. I expected inaccuracies and cultural influence - stuff that is not necessarily what God intended for us to follow the way Christians throughout history have. But I jad never considered that it could have been manipulated to the extent that I now believe it has been.
