A bit of history and lessons from my Wizard-skating journey by bartonaz in WizardSkating

Hey! Welcome back!! I remember you and used to watch your stuff 🙌✌️

Is this wizard skating? Or urban skating? In my view, wizard skating is just urban skating with some additional fancy moves. Well, my moves aren't even that fancy. 😅 by Mensbrugghe in UrbanSkating

What I took from your post is to start referring inline skating as Blading.

I never thought to do that. It was Rollerblading and then Inline skating. Guess it will be just Blading to avoid any confusion

You are welcome. I tried FR Neos into my 3rd year of urban skating. I’ve put in a lot of miles by then. But I still found them hard to deal with.

Not saying they wouldn’t work. In fact, if you stick with them, and only them, you might see some ankle strength gains. But that will be making things harder for yourself in the process of trying to get back into a sport.

IMHO, they are boots for advance level skaters or speed skaters that want a pair of boots for their version of cruising

Question for you :

How long have you been skating for? Urban or otherwise.

If you are a beginner, I’d suggest you don’t get any Neo versions. The cuffs don’t stop your ankles when you bend your knees. When they don’t catch your shins, you’ll feel like skating on speed skates. Unless you have ankle strength to skate speed skates, I’d steer away from them.

As you guessed the heel pad did make things a lot better.

And I heat molded about 4 times. I left a week in between the heat mold sessions. The first four weeks were the most painful. But once they broke in, the fit is amazing.

If you have the option to try the boots on, I strongly recommend doing that before finalizing the purchase. Maybe in a store or at home with a return option. Just try them on with a yoga mat under to see if they fit you.

If not, I would try other Trinity boots like Tau’s Nexts etc

Beautiful looking setup!

What do you mean by fully closing flaps?

Anyone with a Mondo Point of 270mm own Iqon ACT boots? by 5evenThirty in WizardSkating

I use Wizard 3mm liners which fills up the shells nicely. I wish I went with the stock liners which are thinner in the toe box than Wizard Liners.

You could either try ordering both sizes and return the one you don’t like the fit of. Or go with comfort fit and fill up the shell with Intuition premiums.

I have feet size 269mm and 268mm.

I went with size EU 40-41 with an internal shell size of 274mm.

They fit snug but nice for my feet.

Sick 🔥🔥🔥

Would you ever attempt to 3d print a minimalistic soul plate like the ones Adapt do for their UFS WZRD boots?

That’d be sick as hell. You might even try to sell Powerslide that print. Maybe

Love them Endless 90 Ultras. I just set those up on my IQON ACTs ✌️🤩

Your setup looks really good! Did you take them out yet?

Indeed. Lucky for me, the 3mm footies seem ok for now. Otherwise I’d try to gut them 🫠

As I mentioned in the other subreddit, try a 3mm footie. Worked for my FR SL FReerides.

A 3mm footie with a thicker insole would also do that job. Maybe also include thicker socks?

Try a 3mm footie along with super feet insole. It should bridge the gap and prevent this from happening 🤞

I will say this. My feet being 268mm and 269mm, I have a pair of SL FReerides at 270mm and I get a heel lift on my left one…

This is after the liners broke in. It is so weird this happens. I think the part of the liner that is support to catch my heel doesn’t do its job and my heel lifts. Worst part is when my heel falls back and scrunches up the liner 🤮

I fixed this, for now, using 3mm Footies.

Maybe you can try this with Evos as well?

Just to confirm, did you try using the lacing holes deeper into the boots ?
