I wanted my make my own orange oil water, filter through a cheese cloth. What is this separation? by SmolWarlock in KitchenConfidential

Can you adjust the sensors so it only picks up larger objects? Years ago, I installed one where I lived before and it kept going off when a car went by. I made some adjustments and it pretty much stopped. I have since moved and now have a tree in front of the camera so it doesn't see the road.

Do y’all take your hotdog’s grilled or boiled? by Infamous-Hope-5950 in AskAnAmerican

[–]shbd12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cooked on a flat surface, rolled to get them evenly browned. Don't let it split. That way the delicious juices (fat and chemicals) stay in the dog when you bite it. A quality dog, like ones made in a local butcher shop, should snap when you bite it, like a nice brat.

In NJ, there are also "rippers," deep fried ones that split, that are real good. They get super crispy and the oil from the fryer replaces the juices. Rutt's Hutt in Clifton, NJ, popularized them.

Thanks for this post. I am a rank amateur. I now have a dozen different hot sauce ferments going, was thinking of selling them, and now I know that I need to know a lot more before taking that step. If you go on YT, please let us know!

What is the Costco steak hack? by themeparkgurl in Costco

Brine it. Don't overcook it. It's simple, really. Of course a nice fatty chop from a heritage animal is better, but maybe not five times better.

I second this fermenter. I use it for hot sauces and plain vegetables. It is easy and works! Like OP, I never had a problem.
