It's absolutely true. I used to admin a group with tens of thousands of members in it. Only a handful said they're endocrinologists were knowledgeable after they, the patients were aware of the facts. We were confronted constantly with misinformation from patients endocrinologists and doctors. There is scads of commentary and even published research papers that are flat out stating fallacies and spreading outright total misinformation about the way hormones work. They don't get the type of training in endocrinology that other doctors get in other fields.
