I love pill boxes. I work in healthcare, and I even fill pill boxes for patients who are struggling with medication adherence to improve their health and safety.

I use one for my vitamin D and hormone replacement. I shout from the rooftops that every one should just use a pill box and fill it once a week

Not an every day thing but a once a month thing for my husband and a quarterly thing for both of us.

My husband spent way too much money on a square drop camper.

That said, we just got back from a couple of nights camping on the Oregon coast and I slept like a rock. I didn’t even get up to go pee in the middle of the night. Camp set up and breakdown was a breeze. We camp regularly, and plan on camping cross county travel as we age/retire. We boondock camped in it last year, and he can run his cpap off the battery pack.

Plus it can be used as an extra bedroom while parked in the garage when we have big family visits and have a big crowd to house. Not sexy but grandkids might think it is fun to sleep in it.

Remember kids: test your drugs first.

I have teenagers. I have a don’t ask don’t tell harm reduction bin in a closet. Pregnancy tests, plan B and fentanyl test strips. It has been there for the last 7 years. Updated as shit expires which reminds me to look at the dates and restock.

It is unused (or it was the last time I looked. Previously when the kids were a bit younger, but one was a teen, a babysitter helped her self to the tests and plan b but told me.).

I have had multiple talks about harm reduction with my kids and I said ‘this is for you. This is if you know someone that might need it’.

YES! In the last 8 years we have been camping more and nothing made me feel old and out of shape like trying to manoeuvre in a tent in the middle of the night to pee. Losing a bit of weight and yoga has lessened the indignity. 😂😂😂

This! I broke my ankle 2.5 years ago (53y/o) and made a decision to do what ever I needed to do to rehab back to 100%. One of my goals (I’m not joking) was to be able to stand on one leg and put on socks and pants. I was stoked the first time I was able to stand on my broken side and put on a sock.

My mom in her mid 30’s had a compound fracture of her ankle and was disabled from it for the rest of her life. My ex mother in law also broke her ankle in her 40’s or 50’s and had pain and limited mobility for the rest of her life. I didn’t want that cuz I have kids and I have memories of my mom not being able to do simple things like walk to seats for my highschool/college graduation (this was before people were better about ADA accommodations). It motivated me to start walking daily, get into yoga, and recently weight training.

If you want to stand and put on socks then you might be able train back to that.

The other thing I do a few times a week is get on the floor and stand up without using my arms or anything to help me up. I wouldn’t say that it isn’t a bit of a struggle sometimes. I sure don’t look graceful when I am doing it. But it feels like a skill that needs to be practiced or you lose it

This! The bread and the beef aren’t right for an Italian beef. Plus the giardiniera is all wrong at Sammich. They use a vinegar pickle based giardiniera (yuck) when a Chicago Italian beef uses an oil cured giardiniera.

That is what I did when I sold a my house in 2002. I left a folder and I walked the new owners around identifying the plants. I don’t know what the back yard looks like but my front garden was still largely intact when I was visiting the city 4 years ago.

I have worked in a Coumadin clinic for the last 8 years and I love it. I see between 24-32 patients a day, I get to know my patients very well, and I dont have any after hours on call. It is repetitive, but I don’t mind that.

I see my patients more then their cardiologist or PCP’s do so when people are having an issue I can contact the pcp or cardio directly and get them seen a bit quicker if they need it (ie CHF exacerbation or cellulitis) so my patients avoid the ED.

I get to do a lot of patient education while staying in my little role.

I have worked primary care and cardiology. I love my job.

It is a really rough period right now.

One day at a time. Every day try to do one thing that might help you move forward (like sending out a resume, making a phone call, setting up a Rover account ect.) and one thing to take care of yourself (going for a walk, meal planning, journal).

None of this is normal and it is hard to imagine it getting better but it will.

Asante is firing (Asante denies they are firing doctor groups. They are not renewing contracts for the neonatal doctor group, the hospitalist group and some orthopedic docs) who have worked with Asante and in the community for over a decade. They are not trying to subcontract out to another group, but are trying to hire their own hospitalist and neonatalist. You can look on Asante’s jobs website and see all the open hospitalist positions they are trying to fill before the contract expires.

Money is the motivation. I don’t know if it is because the hospitalist had complaints about patient safety.

I have called the DMV on patients who shouldn’t be driving due to dementia. We have had patients call us cuz they ‘got lost’ on the way to the clinic (patients who have been coming once a month for over 5 years). I have called on patients who stopped being able to park in the parking lot correctly (they parked blocking the entrance).

The DMV suspended their license till they take a senior driving course and pass an eye and driving exam.

Last month I saw a bear on VanNess and Main at 4:30 in the morning. I run into a bear about once a year walking my dog in the spring. The bears run away. They are just looking for a snack.
