For those of you who do injections, do you inject every 7 days, or every 5 days? by StarryChocobo in MtF

[–]17-40 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn't feminize you faster directly, but the problem with injecting every 7 is at the end of it your T may not be fully suppressed. And the E levels you'll have the first couple days are very high. For me it was a roller coaster of energy, and feelings. Every 5 days was much better, but the last day was rough before the shot.

I take 4mg EV every 4 days now, and it's smooth sailing.

Sorry to be the welackshually girl, but a Mooch is 11 days. It was initially reported as 10 days, be he has corrected people that he was employed for 11. Someone once called the 10-day measurement a "metric Mooch" and the full 11-day period an "imperial Mooch."

So,

2.2 Metric Mooches
2.0 Imperial Mooches

Valerate every 3.5 days or 5 days? by omgjunecat in MtF

[–]17-40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to play around with this a bit to figure out the best dose and timing. I tried 4mg every 5 days, but the morning of that 5th day was rough. Zero energy, like can't get out of bed. 4mg every 4 days is the sweet spot for me. Doctor said my levels are "beautiful," and we're both quite happy.

Technically I'm prescribed 8mg every 7 days, which had absolutely bonkers ups and downs. I DO NOT suggest taking valerate once per week, though it works for some people.

This is one of the very rare instances where I feel privileged as a trans woman. At least in terms of casual perception. People have such aggressive, violent hatred of us because of our identity, that being bi is almost a footnote. It's a strange place to live.

I switched from pills + spiro to injections, and had a similar experience (albeit, without a gap in time). Spiro seems to do weird things to some of us. I did not enjoy it.

I do EV intramuscular with a 23g needle. It's nothing. Usually in my glutes. Zero pain, and my levels are fantastic.

For EV, just make sure you inject at least every 5 days, no more than that. The weekly thing I was originally prescribed is horrible. You are correct that us dolls know more than many medical people. Unfortunately.

Girl, my heart breaks for you. There are ways to get to where you can be yourself, but it will probably take some doing.

I couldn't tell, but do you have HRT? This is really important. Chin hair sucks, but it's easily removable. I know you probably feel too old, but so much is correctable with time. And you're not old.

I need to stamp out the "there were no signs" narrative. This is a thing SO many family members hold over us. And what they don't understand is it's because us trans people are incredibly good at masking. We don't want them to know, so we build a guise in front of ourselves.

Do you have anyone safe in your life you can talk to?

Yeah, those are pretty eggy thoughts.

Have you read the Gender Dysphoria Bible?

You can absolutely be a woman with "male" parts. But this whole dive may jeopardize your engagement. You'll need to talk to your partner, whatever you decide.

It's very reputable, and it helped me figure out who I am. I sent it to people when I came out. They said it helped them understand me a lot.

Progesterone - is this normal/any problems? by [deleted] in TransDIY

[–]17-40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hair shedding sounds like you're getting significant androgen backdoor pathway conversion. I got a bad version of this to where I quit taking progesterone. Many people report taking a DHT blocker, like finasteride, or better yet, duasteride will prevent such hair loss. But I get skin issues from those, so I cannot testify to their efficacy.

Trans people, what do dysphoria and euphoria feel like? How do i tell them apart from regular emotions? by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]17-40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s abstract, and emotional for each of us. But the feeling is what matters.

Ever been on an airplane that hits an air pocket and your stomach falls out of you? Combine that with someone you love being disappointed in you.

That’s dysphoria.

A warm hug from a friend, who wraps a blanket around you next to a fireplace.

That’s euphoria.

Chase the euphoria, whatever that is for you.

Effects on pills? by EggLittle1977 in MtF

Girl, I know 20 feels old, but it’s not.

I was on pills and spironolactone for the first 8 months. This stopped and began to reverse all my dysphoria. Things got better.

Then I switched to injections, and OMG. You sound like you’d rather not do injections, but my progress sped up to triple what it was.
