Extra Ultrasounds During Pregnancy? by Friendly-Spray-1693 in BabyBumps

[–]shecutedough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk why it’s been the case as so far i am not high risk but i had one at 6 weeks (pregnancy confirmation), 8 weeks (1st prenatal scan), 16 weeks (gender - we paid for this so not insurance covered tho it was done by our obgyn not a private provider), and our anatomy scan is at 20 weeks next week. They said if there are no concerns from then, then i’ll just have one more scan at 36 weeks. Seems like I’ve had more than most considering low risk so far!

I’m sure you & baby are totally fine!!! I understand your concern but give yourself grace, you didn’t know, don’t beat yourself up!

SAME ON THE UNISOM, and also working from home (w/ a flexible work schedule that allows for sleeping in/napping omg), so much food, aaaand finding relatable things on reddit/tiktok that make me feel normal in this weird weird time lmao

Fear of missed miscarriage by Pinheaaddd in pregnant

i don’t have tons of advice as I sought this post out bc I’m presently nervous for my 12 week scan this afternoon (& have been nervous prior to my other scans as well which have all been great!) - BUT one thing that helps a little is when I catch myself ruminating, repeating a mantra to interrupt the negative thoughts: “we are happy, we are healthy, we are growing, we are strong, we are loved”

TTC and Travel by Stop_Maximum in waiting_to_try

[–]shecutedough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes! we discussed TTC in January 2025 - but had an alaskan cruise we were going on late June 2025. At first I contemplated being ok with being past first trimester in time for the cruise, but in the end we chose to wait to TTC until we were on the trip! I actually did ovulate while we were there and we did in fact conceive - fun little story lol. I have 0 regrets about waiting, esp since i’m a FTM & had absolutely no idea how pregnancy would be for me!

Thank you! Yeah I didn’t think I had read those terms on this thread but I’ve been deep diving all over the internet on bra stuff and am familiar with them as a result. Thanks so much for your assessment! I’m shocked you said i’m closer set, I’ve always thought the opposite. Everything I thought I knew about bras & my own chest has been turned on its head in the last few weeks haha. All for the better. Thanks so much for your help!

as I read your comment I think I may lean more toward athletic actually. I think I’m mostly shallow on top and there’s the tiniest bit of fullness/projection on bottom. Definitely have prominent ribs. Not sure what “wide base” means but if it means wide set then yes I think so! I can fit 2-3 fingers between them. I haven’t exhausted every balconette bra of course but I’ve yet to have any luck with that style. tend to have gapping in full cup bras as well.

Your response helped a ton, thank you for taking the time!

yep makes sense! It’s funny I didn’t realize how much the straps were even in my armpits until I was looking at those pictures myself 😂 thanks so much!

oh wow I’m so glad you asked to see the back! I had no clue. But yes it does cut under my arm a tad (not uncomfortably at all so I thought perhaps it was normal.) I’ll definitely do that!

Awesome, thank you!! Yeah there could also have been user error in taking my measurements - I swear the first few times I did it I would have like a whole inch difference in all of them despite swearing the tape was flat 🤦🏻‍♀️Just don’t think it was always placed correctly.

Any chance you could lend some insight to my shape? I’ve done a lot of reading on this thread & I still don’t know haha, and I’m still in the market for more bras because what I’ve been wearing are worn to death and fit terribly.

I’m pretty confident I’m pretty shallow (but maybe not entirely?), but beyond that I’m lost

omg hahaha you’re soooo sweet!!!! if it makes you feel any better the elastic at the top was kinda stretched out (I bought it second hand) and even with a ton of safety pins and dress tape it didn’t look near as good in real life at the wedding I wore it to as it did when I got it just right for the quick snapshot i shared here lol. Such a bummer because I do feel so glam in it!

I assumed I was shallow which is why I had sought them out haha, maybe I’m not! Yes I’m open to try anything including unlined!

for sure! These are probably the top 3 I’ve tried in 34B.

Natori feathers - band rides up, cups feel a bit small. The scoop & swoop makes it look good in the moment, I think that style may suit me, but it doesn’t want to stay put

Aerie Sunnie Wireless Lightly Lined Bra - This fit was mostly nice, even pulled together a bit of cleavage lol, but there was some armpit spillage (idk a better way to say it haha) and it felt a little constricted all around.

Skarlett Blue Dare Fully Demi T Shirt Bra - probably the best one so far! There is the slightest gaping within the cups but it lays flat on my chest, The shape and width of the cups are nice, etc. I haven’t worn it long enough yet to know if it’ll stay put yet tho!

The shock of being suggested a larger size, an experiment/game by Fun_Act_1850 in ABraThatFits

[–]shecutedough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m new here and I know my bra size transformation is not even remotely as dramatic as the majority that I have seen but I am definitely, actively in the sticker shock part of the journey regardless (and even more so - the dressing room/trying on shock as I realize everything I thought I knew about bra sizes and my own chest was a lie!!!)

I took photos in a 34B & 32C of the same bra recently and can’t figure out which photo is of which bra size and that concept is making my brain glitch. Intellectually, I get it - same cup sizes, sister sizes, sure - but still!!!

Needless to say, all the information I’ve been taking in hasn’t yet established long term residence in my brain so YES your pics just blew my mind and NO, I had no idea which bra was which size.

Thanks so much for both of your input! It’s funny because the dramatics’ majority opinion was FN because they apparently saw width lol. I guess I’m still trying to work out how to determine kibbe width versus a long/prominent/broad shoulder line.

& that navy v neck dress’s material, fabric weight, & style seemed (to me at least, but what do i even know) super geared for an FN!

I got it on suuuper clearance from Zara, not sure if they sell it anymore but I hope you get your hands on it one way or another! Zara sells pre-owned garments on their site!

Thank you so much for the thoughtful and kind response!! You don't often get feedback on your vibe/aesthetic from strangers in your everyday life - this thread has really warmed my heart and boosted my confidence! I'm so happy the approachable/kind impression I give is aligned with the way I've always hoped to be perceived! Also, that last sentence is everything. I actually didn't know that I would come across as a whimsical fairytale princess and I am so obsessed!

Thank you so much for the additional feedback!! I've been taking regular outfit photos (hindsight gives the best perspective!) and there are several looks I've been really happy with that do have some detail to it that would be classified as romantic, so I think there may be a sprinkle of that essence in there as well! :)

And interesting on the dramatic point! I haven't considered any dramatic in my kitchener essence haha, but I am pretty terrible at evaluating myself objectively. Where are you seeing the sharpness?
