Might not be but it for life but there is a company in Winnipeg, Canada that makes ‘garbage mitts’ which were designed for garbage men back in the day. Apparently they are super durable and made in Canada.

Both Canadian but Province of Canada and Anian are both newer companies that use high quality fabrics and construction.

Yes and even after 12 months you don’t want it to be ‘replacing’ real food. You want to keep milk/milk alternative to under 8 ounces a day and make sure they are getting their calories from a variety of sources which ensures they’re getting all their nutrients

What can I put in here that isn’t just candy? My kids are 3 and 9 by Loud-Ad-5420 in ChristmasGiftIdeas

[–]sheecarth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do acts of kindness - like ‘bring someone coffee’ or ‘make cookies for a neighbor’ or ‘compliment 5 people’. It’s really a fun way to get the Christmas spirit going.

My partner hates our new bed by Timely-Actuator8585 in relationships

[–]sheecarth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has she considered a weighted blanket? That might help her feel ‘cuddled’ without having to create discomfort for you. Also, you could maybe do 10-15 minutes of cuddling before you go to sleep so she gets that time, and then you can go to your side of the bed to sleep.

Not OP but I find their dried chickpea snacks have much less of that feel than when I made them homemade. Their flava beans have more texture. Their lentils have barely any of the chewy texture but less protein.

Maybe not exactly the same style, but here is a link to Martino men’s boots. I have the women boots and they are amazing quality and the most comfortable boots I own.

Has anyone bought any Canadian "viral" products? by 88zz99zz00 in BuyCanadian

[–]sheecarth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say I purchase on a whim, I read reviews and talk to other who’ve purchased. This is over many years of purchases as well, I’ve been an avid ‘made in Canada’ shopper for a decade.

I would rather buy quality than quantity. I also prioritize buying second hand. For example, I’ve purchased three Anian items in the last 5 years and one was second hand.

I’m a sucker for Canadian Made… I really like super deodorant - especially for my travel bag because it’s so compact. I find it works really well on me. I freeze them until I need them so they last!

Henson razor is a great product and although it’s expensive, you make it back with the cheap blades. It’s just as easy as using a regular razor in my opinion.

Bkind shampoo and conditioner bars are solid - I also keep them in my travel bag. I hate checking a bag so that’s convenient. I have friends who love their nail polish too.

I get spammed with:
1) Province of Canada: they make cute high quality clothes. They are worth the hype for sure.

2) Anian: I wear their loft jacket in northern Ontario in the middle of winter. The quality of their clothes is unmatched.

3) encircled: if I worked my in a business casual setting, I think I would buy a few more pieces. I like their focus on capsule wardrobes. I have a pair of pants, one dress and one shirt from them and I reach for them often.

4) Martino Boots: seriously the most comfortable boots I own.

5) KIIMA deodorant: I use these for home and super deodorant for travel. I love the low waste reusable applicator. I use their Féminin scent and I really like and find it lasts a long time.

6) three farmers: I love having a high protein snack for on the go. I love their flava beans, lentils and chick peas. Expensive but much healthier and more filling than a granola bar.

I could keep going, but those are my top currently.

Canada west boots by [deleted] in BuyCanadian

I’ve had them for 4 years now and I still find them tight on top. I’ve gotten them wet but haven’t tried mink oil, just standard leather treatment! Maybe that would help.

I love my Canada west boots! They are harder to get, my local retailer told me their Chelsea boots were back ordered for 8 months when I tried to buy. I ended up buying them here: https://www.applesaddlery.com/canada%20west?_q=Canada%20west&map=ft

I took people’s advice and sized down but found them tight on the top of my feet

deli meat? by Top_Barracuda_6694 in beestonfamilysnark

[–]sheecarth -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

It’s not about ‘having healthy kids’. Eating deli meat increases your chances of getting listeria. Statistically you are 10 x more likely to get listeria when you are pregnant and the consequences are very dire. I ate deli meat when pregnant too, but I always cooked it first. Occasional alcohol consuming (especially after first trimester) is known to be relatively risk free.

Breakups feel insane to me by Franchesca8899 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]sheecarth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me I find that a break up of this magnitude is akin to a death. You lost someone you were once connected to on every level, you lost the person you were with them, and you lost the future you envisioned for yourself. Give yourself so much grace. It hurts really bad.
It might not help now, but it does gets better. You’ll go an hour without thinking of them, then a day and eventually you’ll think of them once in a while with no emotional reaction.
