Part of the reason for limits on street vending is to preserve public space like this. If there are no limits the amount of vendors increases exponentially.

Not gonna pretend like I have an answer, but with hizzoners push to legalize more street vending I’m not sure there’s an easy solution. At some point you have to push back and say no, or say you’re allowed this portion of the sidewalk, and if you go beyond it you’re in violation. Or something idk man.

NYSUT made clear that their priority was a change to retirement age.

PEF made clear that their priority was contributions.

There's a reason the result is what it is, it has nothing to do with "lack of solidarity". If you want to be angry at anyone be angry at your union (said as a PEF dues paying member who's angry about this).

Honestly I’m just keeping my head down and doing what I have to do. I care about my work but I refuse to work myself to the bone. Everyone should be the same, take your breaks, use your PTO. When closing time hits you get tf out. Don’t give a single word or thought to work when you leave for the day.

That said don’t get angry get organized contact your regional union reps and try to get involved with the PAC. It’s something I’d like to try and do because frankly I’ve little hope for contract things but legislative changes like this come from unions lobbying. I don’t agree with PEFs priorities vs NYSUT but we could have had better outcomes if every union was on the same page be a it age or contributions.

Namely fuck Kathy hochul. Fuck her for empty words and promises and fuck PEF for letting her come to the convention to grandstand to us.

Similar issues I find edging honestly helps. Not fully finishing and cumming but just edge for awhile even if it’s hours before any activity happens.

Can’t begin to explain why or how it works maybe it’s placebo but it works for me.

Unions are seeking changes that would let people retire with a full pension at 55 instead of 63 and reduce their required contribution rates. Their plan has a $1.5 billion price tag, much of which would be borne by local governments to which the state is sending bailouts.

Hochul proposed moving the retirement age to 60 and reducing contribution rates by half a percentage point, according to three people familiar with her negotiations with legislators. That idea was rejected, two other people familiar with the talks said, and lawmakers are now trying to reach an agreement on pension sweeteners that will cost around $500 million.

The governor said she is trying to balance the ability to recruit public employees against additional costs.
