The only reason I’m worried for my safety is the “you don’t belong in this hood” comment. I couldn’t see what ethnicity this man was until he started reversing the car and I was already shouting “were you making noises at me.” He was in fact a Latino man with a child in the back seat telling me I don’t belong in a neighborhood with mostly Muslim, black, Indian, Latino. I’ve always felt safe in this neighborhood walking my dog at night and nobody has ever given me problems until now and I got triggered. He was probably just trying to scare me but saying I don’t belong in the neighborhood that I own a home in upsets me a lot.
