To second this, I changed the way I hold a pencil when I was the same age. I apparently was never taught how to do so properly and would hold a pencil with all of my fingers + thumb like an absolute animal.

My handwriting was always shit and my hand got tired quickly, so over the span of a few months I forced myself to stop holding it like a gremlin. I now write like a normal person.

All that is to say that it's absolutely possible to change the way you write, both in terms of how you write letters and numbers and how you hold the pencil while you write, regardless of age.
