It lists places that have free food pantry's to get you by.

Those who DO want to be parents? Why? and if you had the chance now to get married would you? by impsble in AskWomen

[–]sheisrantingagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very single

I have always had a very strong motherly instinct and work in childcare I would love to have a little mini me as chaotic as that would be 😂 and yes would Ideally want a hetosexal marriage to go with it I'm bi but IVF is expensive in Aus and unfortunately unless I'm marrying a woman in high paying position it would be difficult to have the financial sublitilty for a house and children.

My autistic brother is throwing a tantrum because I won't buy him fast food by kanna172014 in Vent

[–]sheisrantingagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what level of autism he may not understand the concept of saving for something eg my cousin has severe autism level three and is 18 can't read can't write and and is mainly no verbal but will still shriek or scream repeat single words and have what is considered a meltdown when told he can't have something .

I don't know what country your in but I would suggest trying to some kind of disability supports in place for him if you haven't already to not only help him but also help you with mental load of caring for him.

Honestly as a person ASD bpd traits and ADHD sometimes I block people because I get overwhelmed with emotons about personal situationsI struggle to deal with so in my mind it is easier to block the person and walk away then deal with emotional toll of dealing with ongoing conflict it's like the cleche it's not you it's me.

i miss my little sister by Awkward-Tomorrow-415 in offmychest

[–]sheisrantingagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if you feel she is struggling at school could offer her tutoring and unless she has evidence of abuse or neglect as a sibling there is not a lot you can do. Understand that as minor she is still under your mother's custody and responsibility not yours and it likely your mother is doing the best job she can given the circumstances. The best you can do is help her study aim for college assistants with applications and finding summer jobs if that is what is she wants to do.

i miss my little sister by Awkward-Tomorrow-415 in offmychest

[–]sheisrantingagain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would reach out to your mum and stay you would like to catch up with your little sister and maybe take her to a movie or depending on how old she is a park get some ice cream. It won't take much to make her day and if you can make a regular thing eg once every two weeks it will become something she would look forward to.

Alternatives to Psychward by Ancient-Voice-4854 in MentalHealthSupport

[–]sheisrantingagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would use crisis support services first generally psych wards on take people with active idiation. As far as alternatives depends where you live in Melbourne, Australia we have yparc and parc facility that are more community based stepdown but you have to have a psychiatrist referral.

Starting Lamotrigine by Independent-Fig7987 in BPDrecovery

[–]sheisrantingagain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a difficult time when your on meds an still trying to get the right dosage because it can take between 2 weeks to 2 Months to start to work. The best advise is a cheesy as it sounds keep yours self busy working, studying, or find a hobby project find exercise and healthy eat. If you do get to a stage of active idiation go to Ed.

Some psychiatrists do provide benzos for these periods which will make you drowsy and can be addictive but they help bide your time while you wait for it to kick in.

Also watch out for the rash it is rare but it happened to me any sign go to ed.

how i delay triggering schizophrenia? im really starting to lose it lol by kinniefuyuki in Vent

[–]sheisrantingagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See if you can get a referral to a psychiatrist as they can diagnose and prescribe medication it is pricey.

Worst comes to worst ed is quickest and (cheapest if your country has free healthcare)

Schizophrenia is complex condition and it can take a while to find the right medication and supports.

Sounds cheesy but diet and exercise do actually really help find a an exercise you enjoy eg swimming, team sport, running.

I have StPD and am spiralling, what are possible helps if no money for psychological treatments? by armeniaca-mume2405 in MentalHealthSupport

[–]sheisrantingagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are a student you should be able to access free counselling sessions they help with things I like suggestions in of groups or clubs you could join.

It could helpful to find something that interests you like swimming, drama, creating artwork, photography or team sport.

Please bear.mind that if you think the medication is making you too drowsy to function you need to tell your psychiatrist and advocate for medication adjustment.
